Fun bite-sized thrill with interesting levels and narrative! Lovely use of mechanics with care to on-boarding players and intuitive level design allowed for me to navigate without any issues. A steal for this price, the whole game is wrapped together nicely with a satisfying conclusion.
When playing this game, you've got to remember it isn't a AAA game with hundreds of people making it. Pros: Sound design in some places was spectacular Music sound track Interactive environment (walking over toys, spinning merry go round etc...) Easy to understand controls Lore that would make MatPat do a video on it Quite creepy and scary enemies Decent story line It takes elements from FNAF containment breach, Poppies Playground and a few other games which make it awesome to play. Cons: No save points / doesn't create one when you manually save the game Sensitivity doesn't save between transitions Could be better optimised, in some places was getting less than optimal frames Only one way to do parcore no work arounds Items may unload and cause you to seem stuck Overall View: Needs a little TLC but still awesome to play 7/10
Just completed the game with 90% achievements and the sacrifice ending. Its a really cool and super trippy realistic horror game where you are chased by evil plants and cats. Very amazing levels, alotta fun gameplay and highly recommended!
This game chimmies my durger. Urga burgering fr fr
Great fun! Traversal and puzzles were really cool. All three main sections are really distinct and last has lots of cool variety. The lemur was my fave encounter super spooky but Kanga was a close second. The sticky hand is the best thing, my only wish is there were more physics props to slap about.
First of all, big thanks to FuzzyLogicGames for providing me a free key for *Caretaker*! That said — this review is fully honest and my own opinion. If you’ve played *Wendigo*, you’ll instantly recognize the comic-style visuals with thick outlines and surreal colors — it looks amazing. The eerie soundtrack and ambient noises amplify the atmosphere perfectly, creating that uneasy “something’s watching me” feeling. Now, a few issues: – The “Swinging Area” is frustratingly tight on timing; I died 30+ times there. – Aiming with the rubber hand is clunky and inconsistent. – No autosaves, and manual saves give no feedback. – Missing subtitles on the phone calls make parts of the story hard to follow. – The Western Town section could use clearer direction — I wandered in circles forever. Still, these are all fixable problems. The pacing, the design, and especially the transitions from playful horror to darker tones work really well. For €3.99, *Caretaker* is a stylish, creepy little gem — and I’m already looking forward to whatever FuzzyLogicGames creates next. 🎥 Watch my full playthrough: Caretaker — Let’s Play Step deeper into the darkness — discover more horror gems and nightmares. 💀 Follow our curator page: Sanctum of Horror 🎮 Watch the horrors unfold live on Twitch 📺 Full playthroughs & reactions on YouTube
I want to begin by saying I'm not one of your supporters, but I thank you for thanking me. I really enjoyed the game play which included a solid 10% of it being having to change my mouse sensitivity after every time I ate dirt. I liked the noodle with the cowboy hat, I slapped him at a perfect angle and caused him to spin on his head for a solid 30 seconds and is was a highlight for the game. I would enjoy for that weird dog giraffe thing at the end to be my dentist, I was stuck in that POV for long enough to become attached to it. This was actually a very interesting game though and I genuinely enjoyed playing through it, the style of the game is fantastic and going through the different levels was really interesting, I loved the designs for the enemies, they were unique and fun. There was some unique mechanics and the parkour was fun, even though it was a little jank sometimes. The story was interesting and I loved the art that came along with some of the story-drops. I would recommend people give this game a shot and I hope this idea & style is expanded on in the future! Here lies LoraCOB.
**[For full context, I am a friend of one of the creators behind this game, and was given a key to play it for free.] This game delivers big for the price tag. The ambiance is great, and the overall atmosphere hits 'unsettling' right on the nose. From the beginning you're anxious, as the off-putting and just really odd vibe hits early. The unique tools take inspiration without being overly similar, like the sticky hand being similar to the grab-pack from Poppy Playtime. The other reviews spoil somewhat that this is a mascot horror game hidden under its unique summary, but I think that's fine. It delivers the information in a way that still deeply unsettles and scares you. Then again, I'm a bit of a weenie when it comes to these sorts of games. I believe that the game makes things scary without using jumpscares, which puts it a bit ahead of Five Nights at Freddy's in my book. Cheap jumpscares will get your heart racing, but that sort of horror is easy to adjust yourself to. Think of Markiplier for example, who plays those sorts of games all the time. No, CareTaker brings a refreshing and unique perspective to the idea of both mascot horror and child-gone-missing tropes that will chill you to your very core at every twist and turn.
I wish there was the option to leave a neutral review. It's a unique spin on the other games of this type (Poppy Playtime, Five Nights Security Breach, etc.), but it's just... not that scary. The puzzles and needing to time swinging around etc made it a LOT less scary. The viewmaster thing was really neat, but the rest of the game just needed some oomph in the scare department.
I loved watching the development process and loved what came out of it. Thanks guys for the experience, and congratulations for finally releasing Caretaker! :) It really was super fun. The art-style, coinciding atmosphere and sound design really pulled the game together. I loved all your lil avatars, and enjoyed flinging them into the abyss. They were my comforting support system whilst I ♥♥♥♥ my pants from the fricken flowers. All the abilities and gameplay aspects were all really fun and a nice difficulty, enough so that it was hard to watch for others, but I wasn't yet hitting my desk. However, I must detest the mistreatment of the giraffe and I shall avenge them when the time is right.
