I put this game of sooo..... many times! as card games are not for me usually and constantly looking for games, as the games i like are hard to find as im into everything. So didn't really read much into it or look i just clicked and thought id end up uninstalling it, but i tried it finally... and i completed it!! its shortish but its WONDERFUL! The reasons i love it cause firstly her name is what my name actually is to my dad Amalia but English my mum chose to be the English version as Amelia i thought oh cool haha, As i played it was so odd, being mostly in home and bound to one space with a bad mental health issue atm this game spoke to me as if fate! so much of it was like it was made for me to defeat my shadows! even the base of the story (i wont spoil it) about why she is that way it made me realise, even though i have had some mental health issues all my life they was triggered into where i am now because of this.. and facing shadows is what i need to do... idk it was just everything! the style, the art, the inter-activeness the characters and her herself , the story and card game it was all immersive and amazing to me! i wish it was longer! i highly recommend this to anyone suffering MH issues or not! its a cosy game that's really hard to stop playing, to me anyway.
game is fun! surpassed my expectations in every way - visuals, music, gameplay, and storytelling it's short, and not terribly difficult, but I think it achieves all the things it tries to do.

A beautifully crafted therapy session disguised as an epic battle against inner demons. Guiding Amalia as she turns grocery lists and tea recipes into radiant weapons of self-discovery is oddly empowering. Easy but fun gameplay and it's pretty entertaining to stack card combos together. Heartfelt and magical, play to slay Shadows while learning how to be kinder to yourself. Brilliantly made for a student project.

Very sweet game.
FOR MORE CARD AND BOARD GAMES FOLLOW US CARD GAME KING
The game explores the feeling of sadness and helplessness and how to beat them. In this case with cards. To break the review apart - there is the narrative and then there is the card play. The narrative follows Amalia, a girl from a simple village, and her struggles with negative feelings. With the help of a little shiny friend, the main character battles these emotions through self-understanding and self-acceptance. The dialogue is well written without ever sounding too condescending or snobby. It's uplifting but not excessively so and does the sensitive topic justice. The card play is cleverly woven into the narrative (writing thoughts and experiences as cards that serve as a reminder that not all is doom and gloom). But is the card play good? No. It's simplistic gameplay is a great vehicle to move the story forward as it's easy to learn, but it makes the combat tedious. Not only is the deckbuilding unsatisfying due to cards having simple and repeated effects, but the UI is also very slow. Playing one card per turn certainly enhances that feeling. All in all, the story was quite well and respectfully written considering the sensitive subject, but the cardplay is simplistic and repetitive. If you think you would enjoy the story about personal struggles, I recommend trying it. If you are here for the card play, this won't be a game for you.
The positive
+ Story + Handles the topic of depression gracefully. + Short and to the point + Free
The neutral
* None
The negative
- Slow turns - Simplistic card play and deckbuilding
Conclusion:
Short story about a girl that struggles with negative feelings. Respectful take on a sensitive subject, only taken down by the unsatisfying card play. Recommended for the story 7.5/10.
Liked this game, especially the card mechanics and the art. Good concept too. Did have a crash at one point where I lost some progress, but was able to catch up again and finish the game.
Really touching, but soooo buggy :(
Poor writing and too much tutorial.
