This game was amazing. Yes it was on the short side but for a Student project, it was amazing. characters were memorable, cards had such an interesting design and i actively sought them out so i could see what new design i would get. The shadows and their designs are also very interesting and that i also like how the design changes from being some form of monster to an innocent little creature. The music also was amazing. I spend most of the time in the town doing all the quests and never once did i think the town music was annoying. The music blended so well with what i was doing that i forgot the music was there to begin with. And the story. It was great. people always downplay the impact of mental health and i find that this game proves that its more serious than people think. Amalia starts being unsure of everything, blaming everything on herself for stuff that wasn't in her control. but in the end, she realises that stuff just happens and sometimes its not your fault and couldn't have changed the course of fate regardless of what she does. Overall, i enjoyed this game plenty
Mechanically its definitely unbalanced, but it's a definitely a charming little game and it's rare to find a free game that isn't asking for your wallet.

Very cute and inspiring! If you'd enjoy an easygoing card game RPG about mental health, you should play Cards of Heart! This a superb example of integrating game mechanics with narrative elements to immerse the player. Having cards represented by memories, thoughts, and self-talk really puts you in the character's shoes. I quickly realized how fun it was to read the cards aloud - from the Shadows' negative remarks to my confident rebuttals. It is delightful to complete side quests, sharing wholesome moments while earning cards that can remind you of those warm memories when you're facing Shadows. The card game mechanics emulate real strategies for curbing panic attacks and grounding yourself. These battles against Shadows are unique enough to be interesting while not becoming overwhelming: keep your numbers healthy and reduce the Shadow to zero - with special Techniques and Shadow abilities to spice things up. Importantly, the game never punishes you. You can take as many tries as you need to complete any encounter, and I don't think any of the town quests can be failed either. Deckbuilding is freeform and feels more like note-taking than metagaming ("keep all my baking memories in one list and my gardening memories in another" is a sufficient strategy) And the characters are very endearing <3
Lovely game, student-developed and full of passion. You can feel the love that went into every aspect, especially the art design, dialogue, and the soundtrack. The gameplay is fairly simple, but also mixes with the narrative so that each of the fights feels like they're advancing the story, not distracting from it. Absolutely recommend if you've got a spare couple hours.
My new fav game! It's sooo beautiful!!!
I feel like I just robbed the University of Southern California.
What a beautiful game, thanks to all the creators and support staff! I enjoyed it a lot :)
