it’s actually kinda fun… don’t judge me idk why I downloaded this game, I just saw “runner” and clicked like a caveman. you basically just run, dodge stuff, and pray your reflexes don’t betray you after 2 minutes. simple life. first few runs I was like “ok this is easy” 10 minutes later I’m crashing into random objects like I owe them money. graphics are simple but kinda charming in a “my laptop from 2008 could run this while also mining bitcoin” way. is it repetitive? yeah. did I still say “one more run” like 15 times? also yeah. honestly solid if you just want to turn your brain off and pretend you’re good at gaming for 5 seconds. would I recommend? yes. will I uninstall it after 2 days? also yes.
"Captain The Runner is an endless runner game based on retro graphics, where the player must avoid colliding with the cars, buses, spaceships, water bodies and much more". It is not. A pure shovelware, this game basically offer to the player a playtime that amounts roughly at 5 to 10 seconds per map. Ok, I have to admit that there are only four maps and some of them are easier, but you got the idea. You'll only be able to see the pre-fixed controls on the main menu: jump with the directional keys, left and right to move. This is all. Upon clicking start you'll be asked to choose between four different maps which are quite similar, apart from the number of road lanes you'll be running on. So the first map will have only two lanes, the second three and such. The game is terrible, and the hitboxes are something that can't even be explained. Basically, everything is an instant-kill - the game has no lives or health bars, and even if you'll move right or left some metres behind a car coming your way you'll die. The purpose of the game, as you may have understood, is to change lanes while avoiding cars and collecting points (even if nothing is explained within the game).. but with such hitboxes, the game lasts like 10 seconds and you'll get hit by a random car. The graphics are utterly terrible, and most of all similar games can be traced on Flash websites for free.. and made way better. And everything is so crappy that you'll have a hard time while distinguishing between the lanes, the enemy vehicles and yourself.. not to talk about the instant-kill that happens also when you try to go off-road on the sides of the screen. A total mess, overall. It may be a casual indie game and it may amuse someone for ten minutes, but this really can't require money in order to be played. You'll really get fed up of this crap after some minutes. I like this kind of games, mainly on free websites, but this is really impossible to play - if you have a car already passed on your left and another one coming your way, hitting the left directional key will cause an instant death - who knows why? For the car on your lane, or the other one, or who the hell knows? Oh, and you'll also have the jump thing with the relative directional key. You won't see many changes in your character - holding it will make him "float" even if there are no graphical differences, and you'll be somehow immortal since there are 5000 seconds available of that crap. Oh, but never mind - half of the time you'll be killed anyways even if you're jumping! Just don't mess up with the other directional keys since a single move will insta-kill you. Let's stay away from this thing.
What a bad game... You can literally stay in the middle lane on the first map and get every achievement except 2. You don't have to even dodge ANYTHING. Atleast 100% Achievement is easy to get but it doesn't even have cards. No effort put into this. How to get 100% Achievements in this: 1. Go to the "Space: VOID" level. Stay in the middle lane. Press the up arrow key whenever a car approaches. Die once you get the green star achievement. 2. Go to the Christmas level (click MORE at the bottom right of level select to get to it). Stay in the middle lane. Press the up arrow key whenever a car approaches (you can still do this when there are two in a row, just jump later). Die once you get the blue star achievement. Be careful not to jump over it. 3. Go to "The Old City" level. Get in the middle lane (between the two roads). Press Alt+Tab. Wait.
Captain The Runner is a template flip from Anamik Majumdar, who keeps reskinning the same lame GameMaker Studio game templates and re-releasing it on Steam with a few minor changes. The GameMaker Studio template he keeps re-releasing is just a basic retro pixel (couldn't he rip off a template with proper graphics??) 2D top down/platformer stealth/action game, although in this case he's managed to copy+paste someone elses "endless runner" template, while this is the first I've seen, I doubt it's the last based on the asset flipping pattern for this retro pixel garbage merchant. Here's some other results of his copy+paste school of "game development":

Haunted Jail: Alcatas
Ghost in the Barn House
Gaze at Maze
Smash Halloween Pumpkins: The Challenge
The Chills
Gregor Hills Haunted Hospital
Jaxon The Thief
House Number 666
My Haunted Doll
Axizon Labs: Zombies
The Haunted Exmone Theatre
Rescue Rina
The Haunted Tunnel
Heltons Haunted Hotel
Gaze At Maze
Ghost In The Barn House
Zack Y
Fight For Love
Captain: The Runner
These are all basically the exact same GameMaker Studio game template with a different skin and a couple of things changed. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. No matter how many times this guy copy+pastes the same game, it's not suddenly going to become anything but garbage. Rehashing the same game over and over again is just a cheap nasty cash grab. While Anamik Majumdar occasionally breaks Valve guidelines for partners and attacks reviewers, any legitimacy he may have is eracticated by the way he pumps these copy+paste asset flips out and bulk sells keys to crapware bundle merchants like DailyIndieGame. It's also important to note Anamik Majumdar has denied using GameMaker Studio to make his asset flips, despite every single one being made with GameMaker Studio. It's unclear why Anamik Majumdar is consistently dishonest about his asset flips. As usual, my recommendation is to never give money to asset flippers and construction kit copy+paste scammers, so don't reward this one.
Awful Game
Endless retrostyle (NES) runner game with lots achievements. Most of achievements are very easy, but couple little difficult.
