Instead of 3d shooting combat and puzzle solving, it's now mostly 2d shooting with more boss fights. It's just as ridiculous as the first game, the humor is still here and the plot was fun, but not nearly as memorable as the first game. The combat is better overall, but the platforming sections feel pretty awkward and loose. This franchise has gone to some interesting places, but I'm not sure where you could go from here. Once you go into space, you can't get any higher than that. Still worth playing I felt, wishing best of luck on future endeavors. _0

Really great addition to the first one, adds platforming sections and some really cool side quests and secrets to discover. The characters are still fully voiced and the game is hilarious. I recommend playing the first game before playing this one if you haven't already. Don't let the graphics turn you off, the characters and gameplay are enjoyable if you a sense of humor and aren't expecting a AAA title here.

So I've finished it. Unfortunately I didn't save before going to the last area so I have to redo some stuff if I want to 100% it (I got most of the achievements)...but aside from that. You're not getting an amazing game here. You will be finding all kinds of jank, glitches (hint: if there's no music in a portion you probably want to restart the game), relying on broken game mechanics to do things, accidentally breaking things and getting what would be a softlock if not for the ability to return yourself to the beginning of the area, and wondering what you're missing at various times. But you have all the sketchy game mechanics, strange characters and plot, random references and non-sequiturs, intentionally off voice acting and art, and the entirely too enjoyable soundtrack and it comes together to make an experience that's utterly delightful. Unfortunately if you haven't played the prequel you'll be a bit lost at times ([spoiler] there is a quiz [/spoiler]) but if what I've said sounds like your thing...just buy both.
