Stressful and challenging in a unique way-- as if old style golfing games were made into a 2D side scrolling game with various death traps to restart your progress and no indication of when you should swing the golf club. There's no story line and it seems almost like a game made for mobile playing with the shortness of the levels. Recommend to grab when on sale for a stressful, but do-able, shot at a 100% under and hour and a half of play time if you get the mechanics down quickly enough. . . otherwise it might cost you a new mouse due to frustration.
Yeah the art and music is cool but can someone tell me how to play the game
This is a really cute game with cool music and beautiful art style. Please note that the controls are extremely difficult and frustrating. It took my way too long to complete the game and I had to step away a few times so that I not destroy something out of frustration,. I might just be a noob though lol. Other than that a really cute game as always

fry
Call of Fries is an Adobe Flash/Mobile app tier physics puzzle game featuring decent art and terrible gameplay from Russian developer, Anatoliy Loginovskikh. Sitting somewhere between a dumbed down version of Angry Birds and a dumbed down version of Freddy Spaghetti (two already dumbed down games), this has you controlling a french fry that you can "push" using your left and right mouse button. The objective is to jump over or bash through a bunch of 2D mobile app physics problems to get to the waiting mouth so you can be eaten. Okay. This isn't an asset flip or anything, does seem sincerely made, but it's weird this was published on PC instead of the mobile app stores where it probably would have done better. I guess there's a side note about the gameplay itself, the potato propelling system is lame and frustrating as the french fry barely moves with each tap, so this is pretty annoying to play, and would be even on mobile phones. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Anatoliy Loginovskikh has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Call of Fries might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical shortcomings push this game below minimum standards for any competently developed modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Let's look at the price and what kind of value this actually offers gamers. Should you buy this game? Is it one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Call of Fries is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
