The most-anticipated game of the year and the sequel to the best-selling first-person action game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
12 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Sep 3 → 12.43/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

12 on sale3 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 3 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 12 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Yeah, we all definitely played this on 360/PS3 back in the day and had the time of our lives but how does it hold up on PC over 15 years later? On the single-player side, still pretty well: the campaign is fun, engaging, and well-varied in what it puts you through. I took on the challenge of making this my first Veteran difficulty playthrough (AFAIK, this entry is in the upper echelons of difficulty- nowhere near World At War, but still hardly a cake-walk) and had a fun-but-occasionally-frustrating time. "Takedown" will haunt your dreams for a while and you'll have one of two experiences with "Loose Ends" (the intro and ending will be a nightmare while the wave-defense section in the middle will be easy or vice-versa). Everything else is shockingly manageable once you've fully "immersed" yourself in the gameplay loop that's inherent with Veteran difficulty. Spec Ops is a bit of a chore and is the main wall for completionist types (3 achievements are outright impossible to get if you don't have a buddy to run the co-op missions with and some of the Veteran difficulty ops are unforgiving). Naturally, the multiplayer is also still a big draw and is definitely still a joy to play today. Just make sure you install something like ♥♥♥♥ before hopping online: the native multiplayer experience is full of hackers and cheaters while also possibly still being vulnerable to viruses/malware (There was a big rash of malware attacks a few years back that seems to have been addressed via security patches but, hey, you never know). ♥♥♥♥ and similar services patch up those vulnerabilities, give you the option of skipping all the leveling up if you just want to get right back to where you left off back in '09 (or you can grind through all those levels just like in the old days), and usually provide a few modded-in extra weapons and maps for you to enjoy. Just buy the game and replay it again for old times sake, you boomer. As an added bonus, Infinity Ward and Activision seem to not care about this title anymore, so it's usually running much cheaper than other older entries that they're still trying to squeeze some extra bucks out of. Much more likely to go on sale too IIRC.
Great to play in 2026 (based on Singleplayer easy mode) one of the worst betrayals in video gaming. but also one of the coolest campains. ''I repeat, the missle bays are open!! Good..''
Fun azz story, definitely a lot better than tha new cod campaign's. (Spec Ops was a beautiful masterpiece) 10/10
