You are free to climb anywhere. Explore the mountain, read the rock face from the ground and plan your route carefully to reach the top. Solve problems while on the wall to navigate difficult sections. You can climb on anything, so choose your path wisely!
Climbing is challenging: each wall feels like a boss fight. A thrilling challenge for those eager to test themselves, but you can also adjust the difficulty to customise your experience.
Manage your resources to survive during the long ascent: pitons, chalk, finger tape... but also food, water and medicine. Set up bivouacs and explore the mountain to find resources to reach the summit.

Великолепная игра с затягивающим геймплеем, играл я до тех пор, пока не прошёл на максимальной сложности, что было очень интересно. Из плюсов конечно же сюжет, много разных взаимодействий вне основного сюжета, механика игры, приятная глазу графика. Есть два минуса: эдельвейс может криво зареспавнить персонажа и автоподбор конечностей для передвижения иногда творит ♥♥♥♥♥, выбирая одну конечность несколько раз или выбирая конечность, стоящую в хорошем положении, когда есть другие не закреплённые конечности. Но даже так, я определенно советую к прохождению

Very fun game and a great story. The climbing generally feels very good though it can get a bit janky when moving around corners and in tight spaces.
Cairn is a truly spectacular experience, there's nothing quite like it. Through the somewhat janky and very occasionally inconsistent climbing system, when everything flows right climbing in Cairn feels perfect. It's not really physically similar to actual climbing especially when you fight against Aava to climb the way you want her to, but in terms of simulating the strain and planning of an actual climb it's exhilharating. To compliment this, the aesthetics of the mountain in sounds and visuals is phenomenal, it leads perfectly to lose yourself in it. It would be amiss to not also commend the story, which tackles this exact feeling of losing youself in the climb, Cairn is crafted with great artistry within every detail in its entirety and definitely worth at least a try.

Franchement cest un 5/5 !! En plus des graphismes absolument merveilleux, l'histoire est folle. J'ai déja eu un coup de coeur en jouant plusieurs fois a la démo. Mais la j'ai été surpris ! je ne m'attendais pas a avoir une histoire autant développer, a avoir autant de choix etc. Quand je l'ai (enfin) acheté je m'attendais a juste essayer de survivre et grimper simplement. Je m'attendais pas a etre à 100% dans ce personnage et a autant découvrir la montagne. Tout les détails sont incroyable, tout est précieux, c'est fou ! merci mille fois d'avoir créé ce jeu, qui passe top 1 dans ma liste ! (ptit spoil : j'ai trouvé l'edelweiss nacrée !!!!)
I have been gaming since the early 80s. This game is unique. It's calming but makes me think. It's peaceful yet anxiety producing. I find myself starting again as I want to try new paths. It's a fantastic game. Note. I personally have found keyboard + mouse more effective than controller.
