For $0 I can't find a reason you shouldn't play it. Full playthrough/review/thoughts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qfeob-vG8I

CAGE-FACE | Case 1: The Mine is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This low key asset flip is your usual first person horror jumpscare adventure set in a spooky abandoned mine (wow, that has never ever ever ever been done before, yawn). Wander around some basic Unreal assets and discover this is only 15 minutes long because it's not actually a game, it's an advertisement as the "developer" is trying to drum up an audience for more asset flips in the same series. Once more, there's a process to create a game demo on Steam and it's harmful to gamers and to genuine ethical developers when it's ignored and the Steam Store gets misused with advertising like this. Then again, asset flips are harmful too, and yet here we are. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "CAGE-FACE | Case 1: The Mine". As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Okish little horror game for free. It would actually be like just 10 minute long but you just keep dying to the monster. It's way too fast and can teleport around the tiny map. When using certain items it's more about luck that he isn't nearby. Usually if he sees you, you die.
Acceptable llittle free "horror game". It is about 10 minutes long but since you will just keep dying to the ever-spawning and teleporting fast cage-face monster within the tiny mine level, hence, it will take approximately 20 minutes. It is pure luck and RNG and usually if he sees you, you die but I suggest using night goggles 24/7 cuz flashlight is f'd up by the developer Alex Olinkiewicz on purpose to create a low effort horror environment with no fog and also recommend sprinting everywhere cuz apparently enemy spawn is random and he is not sensitive to sound at all. I recommend doing normal mode first and get your achievements and do it one more time in hardcore when you realized how to beat. It took me about 40 minutes to get 100% achievements and I am a dude usually scared sh1tless of horror games but this was nowhere near scary I just finished for the sake of completing achievements. For a free game I have seen way worse so this gets a recommendation from me but I also realized the capabilities of the developer and there's no way I am buying the second game unless its free.
Length <15min A short horror game which sees the player have to investigate a mine only to be attacked by Cage-Face. Cage-Face is mainly an escape game, in which the player will be exploring the mine shaft looking for items they need to escape from the mine. There are a few puzzles to complete, with a logic puzzle that stumped me for a moment. (It turns out I failed at reading a Clock Face). While exploring you may run into Cage-Face, it will hunt you and should it catch up to you, it will instantly kill the player. The best option is to sneak around and avoid it at all costs. Should you not then you get rewarded with a nice visual image of Cage Face ending your life. While the game can be a little dark, it is a rather small map, and all of the needed items were easy to find. The game feels like more of an intro to Cage Face, and was fun to play especially as a free game. The puzzles were fun and offered a little challenge. While a constant need to monitor where Cage-Face is really keeps you on your toes. Гра не працює так, як її задумав навіть сам розробник. Плюс, купа невеликих багів складаються в одну велику проблему
