I enjoyed the story and the graphics, it is rather short and of course character development, interactions and developed feelings feel very accelerated, which is a negative point for me, but overall it is enjoyable. I would recommend this game under a good discount :D
I beat this game in essentially one sit down playthrough and I was absolutely hooked. This game reminded me so much about the pandemic and the loneliness I felt during it, the fact the game came out during the pandemic certainly shows haha. The chemistry between the two characters is brilliant and It is awesome to see their love blossom and to see them come together. Be warned the game is very short, yet can still make a grown man cry. I wish more people talked about this game as I truly adore this piece. Buy with confidence, it's well worth your time and money, and long live Mallory!

gameplay/mechanics: 6.8/10 cabin fever has the same “sad panda” dna in it, but you can feel that it’s an earlier swing compared to hush hush. the choice flow works, but it’s rougher around the edges, and the overall structure feels less tight and less reactive. it still has that “i’m guiding this” feeling at times, but it doesn’t consistently hit the same momentum or clarity that makes a vn feel effortless to binge. storyline/plot: 7.0/10 there’s a solid core here, and i do think it’s a decent vn overall. it just doesn’t land with the same punch as hush hush. the pacing can feel uneven, some beats don’t hit as clean, and the escalation is not as satisfying. it’s more “this is fine and i’m curious” than “i can’t stop clicking.” art-style / presentation: 6.7/10 serviceable and readable, but noticeably less polished. it gets the job done, and it supports the experience well enough, but it doesn’t have that confident, refined presentation that hush hush brings. you can tell they leveled up hard later. comedic texture and narrative vibe: 6.5/10 the tone is mostly consistent, but it doesn’t have the same control over its mood. some moments work, some feel a little awkward, and the balance between charm and tension is less clean. it’s not a mess, it just feels earlier in the studio’s evolution. replay value & progression systems: 6.75/10 there’s replay value if you want to see different outcomes, but the routing and progression feel less forgiving and less elegantly communicated. it can push you into being extra cautious with saves if you don’t want to get clipped by small decision mistakes, which makes the replay loop feel more like damage control than intentional exploration sometimes. grand total: 33.75/50 (6.75/10 overall) cabin fever is noticeably worse than its later, much stronger successor hush hush, but i still think it’s a decent visual novel. it feels like a “foundation game,” the one where you can see the potential, even if the execution is still finding its footing.
Cabin fever is a post-apocalyptic dating sim/visual novel game. The premise is that a survivalist guy out alone in the woods ends up taking in a girl named Mallory after she wanders into his camp and gets snared by one of his beartraps. From there it's the usual romance, dumb hijinks, and drama that is typical for these sorts of games. I pretty much never take these sorts of games seriously. I don't really get invested in the characters or story or anything, I just go along with it and laugh at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that happens. And with that sort of mindset, I'll say that it was pretty alright. The Main character's voice actor makes him sound like a dehydrated Reddit mod and I hated listening to him talk. no hate to the voice actor, I think they're acting was believable and I thought they did well with what they were given, I just didn't like the voice they gave him. Mallory was cute, fun to watch, but acted more like a little kid than an adult, which sort of threw me off for a while. But the dumb antics the two got up to were pretty entertaining. The art in this game is kind of insane for what this game is. This game looks really damn good. Way too good for just a doofy dating sim. whoever did the art for this game should consider pursuing something a bit bigger with those talents. Also, I don't even remember any of the music. It was probably serviceable enough. the pandemic plot made sense with the world, but it sort of felt like they only went with it because it was topical at the time the game released. It felt very "we wrote this in because it was trendy and topical." but what would I know. Maybe they were developing the game before Covid happened. In general though, the plot was fine. No super surprising twists or anything that inventive. Just a pretty decent visual novel. Overall, I thought it was pretty amusing, funny, and cute. definitely worth at least one playthrough if you like these sorts of games. 7.5/10.
I loved the game! Would absolutely reccommend!!! It wasnt really a deep game, pretty short too and I think the story was very predictable from the beginning, but the voiceacting, the visuals, the music, the writing- It was still amazing!!! A rollercoaster of emotions where I learned to love Mallory and eventough in the beginning I disliked the main character, hes just a human after all and I love that. Absolutely destroyed me when the first ending I got was the Shakespearean Ending, but after trying again multiple times I got the happy ending that really had me in (happy) tears. Id give even more than 10€ if it could mean I could experience this story anew!
heartwarming story - nice branching
such a cozy, atmospheric, and heartwarming game, beautiful and touching story. 10/10
A fun and enthralling visual novel. Worth it if you are a fan of Crush Crush as well.
por que esta empresa hace juegos tan lindos y tan tristes a la vez? no es justo
