its an atempt at a horror game and it kind of fails at it but its at least its an atempt
N M S L
ok so the run down is that you're just in a place, it goes a bit scary, something screams, a man sands around, you collect parts of a picture, then something does something, people do the macarana and then i died to a zombie policeman that came from the dancing woman with big boobs and that was it it was obnoxiously loud with no way to turn it down, lazily made with no attempt at anything apart from just noises and that was it. So it guess it does make you insane. this game sucks dont waste your time
For a first project made in 2 - 4 ? months. It has some potential among the torrent of walking simulators like slender or it's 100's if not thousands of clones at this point with "insert random character here" kind of deal going on. Things i'd put into priority too change first is the enviromental lightning & vertical sync, maybe expand the area where you walk about a bit more as well. Do find a way to shut off vsync in unity though and you might be able too add in a lot more detail without the game feeling as sluggish as it does atm. Vsync limits the framerate & increases input lag quite a bit on a Amd R9 280 here which was one of Amds top graphics cards a few years ago which should easily be capable of running this but vsync kind of ruins it a bit. Please turn it off & set a max fps limit instead of say 144 or add a box that lets you put in a custom number between 30 - 999 fps. But it's quite basic as it is at the moment & kind of sits among them. If you can expand the idea of the pills & their use along with maybe have a way of distracting the guy crawling after you. Like say throwing the teddy bear and he'll just try too chew it for like 45 seconds like he is a dog or similar the first time around. The next time he'll do it for 30 seconds, then 15 & finally just ignore it unless you throw it at his face in which case he'll thrash about for a sec punching the wall loosing his temper or similar. Maybe some sort of indicator beyond the drawing pieces about what too do & a bit closer too the center of the screen on the lower parts of it for text hints for wider screen resolutions. (For example the " doors locked " that pops up i didn't notice it on the lower left here at all at first & went by the sound of the doors only & managed too get 2 pieces of the drawing still until i died or ran out of sanity.) Like " maybe if i try X or Y over at B or A " Would help if the player gets stuck looping around a bunch without interacting with something and without you directly backseat gaming kind of as someone else tests it. Well.. in the right way as expected a certain number of times over a period of time like say 2 minutes of walking without picking up a drawing gives a hint of maybe i should try door that has this name or feature on it theres something in there if that gets updated & put into the game to distinguish the doors from the others beyond x amount of broken glass or so. Sound design in general is alright if a little bit loud in some sounds. Had to lower volume by 50% here compared too what i normally use on the volume slider here for music & youtube with my earbuds. I only got 2 bits of the drawing so far as i kind of got stuck walking in circles trying the doors with & without pills & the button that didn't seem to do anything & eventually ran out of sanity which i didnt know was a part of the game mechanic here in the 10 minutes i tested here. Maybe for the guy crawling on the floor if you can have a bit slower animated walkcycle as well as it kind of looks like he is walking in place while slowly moving forwards like a bug. TL:DR Basic in its concept and stage currently but worth expanding & fine tuning in terms of lightning & game mechanics along with some graphical improvements like lightning in the area you walk about in, below 210 mb so quick too download & try out for anyone interested.
Nice first try for a game! Creepy, and free :)
… Delirmeyin…
Warning: Asset Flip! ByLo is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This is an incomplete collection of Unity assets arranged around a basic horror game template with an intention to make a, well, the developer isn't even clear about what they were trying to do... so what hope do we have? The one thing you can be sure about is that this is a buggy, unfinished, incomplete mess with no value for gamers. ByLo is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "ByLo", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
