In Brownie’s Haunted Christmas you play as Brownie who loves to bake Christmas cookies. Bake, decorate and buy decorations to turn your new home into a Christmas masterpiece!
Gameplay & Features
Game play options include display options, quality presets and audio controls. The game is played with keyboard and mouse with very simple movements (wasd for movements, interacting with the left mouse button, tab is inventory and ESC is to pause). * The objective of the game is to ultimately earn 100 Xmas points. To do this you bake cookies to sell and then buy Christmas decorations to boost your xmas points and decorate your home. *There is no time limit, take as much time as you need to bake your cookies. In the beginning you will have to run to your recipe book quite a bit to learn the recipes but once you do the game’s pace will flow more smoothly. * You can only work on one order at a time. Bake the cookies, print the order token and once both are in your inventory head to the Gnome Shop to deliver them. * When you see the ghost your fear meter rises, if it maxes out it is game over. Just run to your bed and hide under the covers. Once gone your fear meter will start to go down again.
Negatives
* It would be great to be able to turn off the head sway. At times I felt like Brownie was a bit tipsy. Maybe too much of the ol’ spiked eggnog. Those gamers who experience nausea in some first person perspective games might have an issue with this. * This game does not auto save your progress or allow you to manually save. I played twice and both times after considerable progress had to restart the game upon logging back in. One game run is about 2+ hours. So if you wish to play this game through it will have to be in one session.
The Visuals & Audio
Visually the game is very festive, bright Christmas decor and warm light emanating from the candles and fireplace gives the home a cozy and warm glow. The audio is a collection of Christmas classics in instrumental form. Very festive and you can choose to play the music list in order or random.
Overall Experience
Overall this game is packed with Christmas goodness. Festive, bright, cozy and fun. If the developer decided to do a second game with this theme but just focus on the baking element with more recipes and decorations (that you could place yourself) then they would have a very popular Christmas game for everyone including the young ones. The concept is solid. The ghost element is what keeps this game from being the cozy and relaxing game it could be. If the ghost was more playful like stealing your ingredients or messing up your kitchen then maybe it would play into the theme more but just as a scare factor, for me, just did not add to the overall enjoyment of the game. What keeps me from recommending this game is the no save feature. No auto saves or being able to manually save. So just a warning that if you want to win the game and obtain all the achievements it will have to be in one play-though or to keep your game open if you need to step away. A lesson I learned twice and am passing on to you. * Oh and if you are going to step away go into the shop to avoid the ghost while your away! Fun casual cooking game with a ghost that chases you from time to time.
Klar keine Empfehlung. Da backst du besser selber Kekse, um in Weihnachtsstimmung zu kommen.
A nice simple Christmas cookie baking game. Child friendly. However playing this after “Void Crawler” requires a bit of mind reset. There is a bathroom in this game, right? Which makes me wonder, is this the prequel to Void Crawler? Is Cthulhu inside Brownie's bathroom? Fun short simple game, great music. I hope there's a next chapter with Brownie. Perhaps with even more cookies.
I really like the game's casual theme. I'd appreciate a save function if possible, and I also hope for a Traditional Chinese translation. <3
Brownie’s Haunted Christmas is a charming little holiday adventure with a spooky twist. The mix of Christmas cheer and haunted atmosphere creates a unique vibe. I especially enjoyed baking cookies with the festive music in the background – it gave the game such a cozy feel. That said, I think there’s still a lot of potential. The ghost character wasn’t very present, and it would have been fun to unlock more recipes along the way. Adding real recipes that players could try at home could also make it even more unique. Overall, as a short and cozy holiday experience, it’s very cute and definitely worth checking out for a relaxing break. 🎄🍪👻
I played this on stream, it was a cute lil cozy game perfect for the christmas season!, I would honestly love a sequal game with more ghost types and more cookies to make and multible orders to keep busy like 2 at a time to make it a lil more challanging, either way i really enjoyed playing good job!, merry christmas everyone!
For a cheapy game, it's super cute. Not the most exciting gameplay but definitely cute with lots of Christmas details. I made this as a Member's First holiday video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN-SW33b9Hc My biggest complaint would be that ALL THE MUSIC IS 100% copyrighted & 2nd to that, the ghost could be a lil scarier! Oh & more decorations throughout the house & in Brownie's room instead of just the main room. And WHY can't we go in the BATHROOM!? This would be a great game to pick up & play if you have lil ones over for the holidays. Shows up as a Perfect Game when all steam achievements are achieved.
Please get rid of the head bob and sway; if you did, it would be a good game. As it is it's got cute graphics and fun story line but with all of the woozy motion it makes me nauseous.
