Довольно неплохая игра, с некоторыми недочетами, но если исправить их, будет годнота) Считаю за возможность создать свой уровень большим плюсом
Broken Time is a compact yet striking indie action game that builds its entire identity around a clever and demanding time-manipulation concept. Developed and published by Hunt Studio, it places players in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world where time itself has fractured, no longer flowing naturally but instead responding only to the player’s movement. This single idea reshapes every aspect of the experience, turning what could have been a straightforward shooter into a tense, methodical exercise in positioning, foresight, and controlled aggression. The defining mechanic — time advancing only when the player moves — immediately changes how combat and exploration are approached. Standing still effectively freezes the world, allowing players to observe enemy positions, incoming attacks, and environmental hazards without pressure. Once movement begins, however, everything springs back into motion, forcing quick execution of previously planned actions. This creates a constant rhythm of pause, plan, and strike, blending tactical thinking with bursts of violent action. It rewards players who think several steps ahead and punishes reckless movement, making even small decisions feel significant. Combat in Broken Time is raw and deliberately unforgiving. Players have access to a range of melee and ranged weapons scavenged from the environment, and encounters often feel lethal in both directions. Enemies shatter dramatically when defeated, reinforcing the game’s aggressive tone and giving each successful hit a satisfying sense of impact. The violence is unapologetic and stylized, clearly aimed at players who enjoy intense, visceral feedback rather than restrained or cinematic combat. Ammunition and equipment are limited, encouraging efficient use of resources and creative problem-solving rather than brute force. Exploration is tightly intertwined with survival. Levels are designed to be navigated carefully, as moving too quickly can trigger overwhelming enemy responses, while moving too cautiously can leave you under-equipped. Weapons, ammo, and items are distributed randomly, which adds tension and replayability by preventing reliance on memorized routes or strategies. Each run demands adaptation to what the game provides, reinforcing the feeling of surviving moment to moment in a hostile, unpredictable world. Visually, Broken Time adopts a low-polygon, stylized aesthetic that favors clarity and atmosphere over realism. The angular environments and stark lighting emphasize isolation and decay, fitting the game’s themes of collapse and temporal instability. While the graphics are intentionally minimal, they serve the gameplay well by keeping enemies and interactable objects easy to read during intense situations. The art direction, combined with sharp visual effects during combat, gives the game a distinct personality despite its modest scope. The audio design supports the experience without overwhelming it. Sound effects emphasize impact and urgency, while the overall soundscape reinforces the feeling of desolation. Music is used sparingly, allowing tension to build naturally through silence and sudden bursts of action. This restraint aligns well with the game’s pacing, where moments of stillness are just as important as moments of chaos. Broken Time also includes features that extend its lifespan beyond its core experience. A built-in level editor allows players to create and share custom maps, opening the door for community-driven challenges and experimentation. Achievements and replay incentives further encourage players to revisit the game and refine their approach to its mechanics. While the overall content offering is relatively small, these additions help offset its brevity. As an indie title, Broken Time does show its limitations. Players expecting a lengthy narrative campaign or highly polished AAA production values may find the experience brief or rough around the edges. Its focus is squarely on mechanics rather than storytelling, with the world’s backstory left largely implicit. However, these constraints feel consistent with the game’s design philosophy, which prioritizes experimentation and gameplay identity over scale. Ultimately, Broken Time succeeds as a focused and memorable action experience built around a single, well-executed idea. Its time-based mechanic transforms familiar shooter conventions into something more deliberate and cerebral, rewarding patience, planning, and precise execution. For players who enjoy experimental mechanics, tactical combat, and indie games willing to take risks, Broken Time offers a tense and engaging journey that stands out through creativity rather than size or spectacle.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Broken Time is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Hunt Studio, took the Polygon Apocalypse Wasteland game assets from the real developers, Synty Studios, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Polygon Apocalypse Wasteland" is just a low poly asset pack with wasteland themed assets that the developer plagiarised, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game. It's just a minimum viable product, just enough to get through the non-existent quality control on Steam Direct. Not a real game. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Broken Time has the greedy, cash grab price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Ethics aside, there's enough defects and quality problems with this game that it's not worth recommending to gamers, but the unethical nature of the developer/their associates makes it completely impossible. Because this is just a fake game/cash grab scam, and due to the sheer unethical nature of the developer, you should avoid this completely. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Hunt Studio. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this, and the reviews are all in Russian. On a purely unrelated note, recent US FTC rulings mean that review manipulation and fake reviews are now federal crimes. Interesting, isn't it? Regardless... take the review score of this game with a grain of salt.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
It's a perfectly fine superhot clone. Very basic and with some jank and questionable design choices, but it's got a few cool/clever bits as well. Don't expect too much, it's only about 30 minutes to complete all levels
🕰️💥 "Welcome to Broken Time, where time is broken, the world is mad, and survival is a full-time job! Low-poly, high-intensity, and every move you make changes the game.
