Brainrot Survivors – All Rot, No Brain I went into Brainrot Survivors expecting something in the vein of Vampire Survivors, simple, addictive, and surprisingly deep despite the minimalist gameplay loop. What I got instead was a shallow clone that feels like it misunderstood what made the original work. The core gameplay is serviceable for about 15 minutes. You walk around, auto-attack, pick upgrades. Cool. Except the upgrades feel bland. There’s no meaningful build variety, no interesting synergies, and no real sense of progression during a run. The real issue, though, is the Dogecoin system. You’re supposed to collect dogecoins during runs to unlock permanent upgrades between sessions… except it’s broken. In a game built around incremental power growth, that’s a fatal flaw. Without a functioning meta-progression system, there’s no incentive to keep playing. You finish a run and feel like you gained nothing. No strategy to refine. No build to experiment with. Just… more of the same. If you’re looking for depth, satisfying progression, or even a competent roguelite loop, this isn’t it. Right now it feels like an early prototype. Would not recommend unless major updates fix the progression and add actual build variety.
