Short simple game. But I am enjoy. And nice poem.
Тот самый момент когда игра проходится за 2 минуты, но ты скипнул интро, не понял что делать и теперь чувствуешь себя умственно неполноценным. Никогда не скипайте интро, не совершайте моих ошибок.

Boo's Balloons is a very cute, simple, children's game featuring hand-drawn artwork and a wonderful poetic story. You play as Boo, a cat who arrives at a fairground but loses his balloons! You must ride a hot air balloon to search and catch all the missing balloons floating in the sky, then safely land back at the fairground. While the playtime is rather short, including only one level, I see a lot of potential in this short but sweet game. If the developers added other levels, or continued Boo's story, I could see this becoming a fulfilling game- or even just an amusing little children's book! If you enjoy this kind of style and gameplay, but are looking for more substance and challenge, I highly recommend "The Howler". It's also free, very similar, but a more mature version of this game. PROS

FREE
Child-friendly
Easy controls
Adorable hand-drawn artwork
Narrated story
CONS

Very short (5-10 min)
Cute game with excellent visuals
"For younger children to enjoy as they develop their motor skills." I guess I should've read the description before adding this to my library, but it's too late, and now I've 100% completed the game in less time than it took me to write this review. Not sure how young the target audience is..when I was 6 I was playing Myst. Might be good for ages 2 - 3? Might be better as a book? I'm not recommending the game because toward the end as I listened to the poem, I felt a deeply unsettling feeling and felt like something terrible had happened to the cat. That probably says a lot about my mental state and past trauma more than it says anything about the game, but regardless, for me this is a horror game.
"Boo's Balloons" is a family friendly arcade action game with hand draw/watercolour artwork. What do you do in the game? Fly a hot air balloon and collect smaller balloons. That's it really... the developer claims this is intended to help train childrens motor skills, but any game will let them do that. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
This game is great! My nephew loved it. The poems were a really nice touch.
So the controls, once you no longer add air to balloon, you will drift downwards, and be unable to move left or right until you get more fire for your balloon. Thisis a easy mechanic to get around it was just interesting. Maybe could be changed. But I tap fire a bunch rapidly to choose a side to fall towards or move aorund. Also. When I click to goto menu it makes the text restart and brings me back to the pause menu I was on in the level. Just a thing that could change or a interesting ui mechanic.
