About
Try Boardfall for free! You can continue all your save files in the full version.
Waves of progressively harder enemies fall from the sky
Corner and capture them to earn gold. All your pieces move each turn.
Use the gold to purchase reinforcements from the shop. Here you will find 10 new pieces to master (16 total)
Just to name a few: Artillery cannot move, but can capture unguarded pieces from anywhere on the board.
Jesters are a royal distraction, and prevent a piece from attacking anything else
Magnets pull pieces towards them. Rescue your own pieces from danger, or pull enemies into traps
Witches cast spells from across the board, turning enemy pieces into cursed pawns, rendering them unpromotable
If you run out of gold, don't worry. Normal pawns can be ranked up by capturing multiple enemy pieces with them
Highly ranked pawns can then be promoted to be better pieces, for free, even when the shop is closed
10 new chess pieces to master (16 total, including the originals)
A somewhat competent AI
Procedurally fragmented boards to battle on
Ominous music and crispy sound effects
Helpful tips and instructions built into the UI, learn as you play.

Great variation on standard chess rules. This is a free demo and there's a full version available on Steam here as well.
Pretty barebones but fun, 20-30min demo. Good variety of classic and new chess pieces with different effects/strategies. Needs more options for upgrades, and some structure to the levels like a story or roguelike mode would be good. The only issue I saw was the vulture piece that can move anywhere and AI always moves it out of reach of your pieces so it just goes forever.

Прикольна гра з хорошим потенціалом
Chess with fun and interesting approach. The graphics and animation is really nice and variety of types of pieces allow to come up with more and more strategies. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who like indie strategies.
(Worked perfecty fine on Linux Mint for me without Steam's proton-emulators and is 100% working in offline-mode!) This is a fun, little demo of a chess-related game, with an unique gameplay. The classic chess figures are following the same movement rules, as in the original chess game. But you are able to buy complete new figures, like witches, vultures, jesters, etc and those are following of course other rules. Some of those new figures aren't even able to attack your enemies, like the farmers for example, which are instead just increasing the amount of coins for you (as long as you don't move them around of your chess board). In the demo version you are able to try out two difficulty-modes. The easiest one of them is even made for people, who never played chess before. In every round you are allowed to move one of your figures and to visit the shop for upgrading your chess-pieces or even for buying new ones. Like in professional chess games you aren't allowed to take back a movement, so place your figures carefully. The graphics are fun and silly looking, for example the guy, who updates your chess pieces looks insanely eager to improve your figures. I really didn't find any kind of flaw in this demo here and can therefore recommend it to you.
