When a mysterious threat resurfaces, Trixel is thrust into a high-speed, high-stakes mission across a green-lit neon city, a sky-high bridge, and rooftops that barely hold beneath her boots. Along the way, she faces off against deadly bots, tight spaces, and a vicious threat who might just be her deadliest rival, or her only way out.

What an experience; Blitzstrike is one of those games that will leave a lasting impression on you. It's a testament that belongs next to the legendary retro games that you've probably played in your childhood. This game isn't afraid of being what it is— it outright embraces it! That's what especially makes this a gem. Fantastic work! : D
This game is a fun diversion by a new dev. The action is smooth, the game is lightweight, and it harkens back to the days of run-and-gun games on the Game Boy and NES. Worth the price of admission.
Really fun little game by an up and coming indie dev. Definitely kill some time (and square/circle robots) with this one.
One of Brennan's classmates here, this is a really good first video game for a solo development. It's short, but honestly made me reminisce about some good old Kirby days with the action platforming, and the lore drop at the end was pretty sad tbh :/ The only two criticisms I have are with the upwards fans and the final boss. The upward fans were difficult to find movement consistency, and I died 4 times trying to figure one of them out. The final boss is well balanced, but something I noticed was missing from most action platformers were readability in the boss's next actions. (im also salty i couldnt reach some of the hidden 1UPs but thats just a skill issue) Overall, this is an amazing project for a college student, and I see so much potential for Trixel's upcoming journeys!
I have been following Brennan’s work for some time now. Overall his passion for his work is beyond impressive and I believe that shows in Blitzstrike. Games of this style need to have heart and intention behind them in order for people to craze over them. CLEARLY this game is something to craze over AND it’s made by a solo developer so even better. I can imagine this being in a barcade, I would be raging falling into holes and spilling beer all over the machine next to me. Great work Brennan!
Blitzstrike is a delightful little dose of retro platform shooting!! Perfect in its simplicity. Good movement. Good art. Good sound (especially the satisfying, fizzy splish the enemies make when they explode). Nothing pretentious. It's a platformer in a style of old that is not frequently produced these days: more DOS in feel than Sega. Blitzstrike does not outstay its welcome, and one can see the story through to the end in a couple of hours. And the story was surprisingly touching!😲 I was not expecting the ending that it had. It's worth sticking around past the credits.😉
Video Review: https://youtu.be/QLh9Paw3U9M TL:DR Blitzstrike is a fun, simple, run n gun perfect for younger or inexperienced gamers. It is on the easy side but it has a nice charming story and simple fun levels.
Simple and fun! Story is fairly basic and there isn't as much variety as I would have hoped, but for a short adventure for only 3.49 it's everything it needs to be! My one real critique was that there was only one boss fight, and the fight against Vectoria was kind of annoying when trying to get the Flawless achievement. It's not impossible or anything and I like a good challenge, but when she can randomly teleport directly into you with no indication and there is no tell for when she is going to shoot, it can be kind of frustrating. Anyway, I had fun, give it a try! EDIT: The Vectoria fight was updated and is now way more clear! My little review has influenced the developer (maybe idk) and I couldn't be prouder. Also the Grueling Gauntlet was a great addition, loved the extra challenge and enemy variety!
The game was really fun and silly. I thought the robots were called "cubties" like cuties... but cube... spoilers!
I was also like 100% sure there was romantic tension between Trixel and Vectoria and was not at all ready for the plot twist because of it lmao
Game is very fun to play
