This game, even in such an early access build, is really, really good. It's an addicting platformer that brings the players back to the days of what shaped modern gaming. Inspired by classic games like Super Mario Bros., Blanco has the (near) perfect tinge of difficulty, exploration, and fun overall. Just one world out of the many to be added, at least an hour is supplied, and that's not including finding the many secrets that are soon to be added to this game, collecting many gems, and taking in the retro beauty this game has to offer. Of course, not every game is truly perfect, especially into this early state. The game lacks any indication of the time you've spent playing levels, it lacks a pause menu, there are still bugs here and there, and is still in an early design overall. However, as stated above, this game is in an early build, and for such a cheap price (3$, the creator says) with a dollar off the first week, I'd say that this game is absolutely worth it, a steal even. If you want a 3D platformer that gives you a challenge, feel free to sell that hat or gun for a game that will supply you with soon to be hours of fun. Just remember, at the moment, the game is in early access, so you might have to wait some time for more. 8.5/10, for the early access build. Will be updated upon final release.

Blanco (Or At Least What I Have Played Of It So far) Is a fantastic game That I wish I had found sooner Of Course It Is still early access so a few bugs are present (You Can Get As Many Cards you Want In any level if you keep coming back to it) But Other Then That It Really Is a fun Game If You like 3D platformers like super mario 64 and the like. but it is not just the gameplay oh No This game also has a Great Soundtrack. I would say all the music I have heard so far is either amazing or incredible (The Exception being the clocktower level which I feel was lacking With Its music) And The "Story" Is Good For What It Is, Your A cube person and all the other cube people go on adventures to find their colour, And While Its Decided For most by their name (Someone named blue tries to find blue Someone Named red Etc) Your father/Caretaker/TophatGuy Decideds to name you blanco, so you can decided what colour you want. So Blanco Teleports to a forest circle and begins his amazing adventure to find his Colour Which I guess is the color Blanco Which When I googled it seems to be white with a tad bit of gray. The Game Also Has a shop but for now its semi barebones and also a card system where you collect cards and unlock stuff with em Also It Had some challenge to it as some of the platforming can be difficult (Personally I thought the enemies were pretty easy to mess with except for the red bug guys) All In All its a fantastic game so far And With its current price (3.29 But I got it on sale) How Can you not want blanco? Of Course You Could not want blanco Or You Could leave a 5 dollar bill on the ground in a forest becuase those are on the same level. Personally Though I really Like games like this where even though it seems hardly anyone knows about it, in reality its a fantastic game (Games Like David,Dark ball 2 Kharma) And I have to praise the maker And give him the best of luck to make blanco even better then it already Is! Edit: It's 2022 now... The dev is apparently in a bad living situation now, and hasn't been able to work on the game, and apparently if they wanted to it would be a far smaller game than originally planned, if you want more info, you can find it on the 51pegasi discord (which can be found from their twitter) I don't know if I'll ever get to play a ""full"" version of Blanco some day, but frankly the little of what's here is still pretty good. if anything this should serve as a warning of how rocky development of a video game can be. EDIT 2026: Well okay the discord went down and came back, and the dev has released a new game... also called blanco... I'm gonna give it a try and see if it's good. Regardless I guess this particular game well and truly is never getting finished. that sucks as this was literally one of the first steam games I played. this got me into the idea of making my own games and was always a game I remembered even if it's premise was simple and it was only a single world. I'll never forget Blanco: the colour of adventure
Blanco already looked like a game I would fund for the heck of it, but once I got my hands on it things fell into place. Blanco is a platformer much like the ones in the days of old. Levels with different themes make up the ones availible, along with little collectables sprinkled across the levels. In a way, the way Blanco moves and jumps reminded me of the simpler days when I watch a certain plumber do flips and tricks, of course now our protagonist spins as he jumps higher. Playing this game brought me back to a time where I just played the game for being a game, not some complex combat system or overblow lore context. Much like Blanco's desgin, the game is simple. It has an objective, a bit of an exploring element, and some catchy music to go with while you go around looking for the Super Gems. Simply pleasing. Now on with the down sides, Blanco does manage to feel a bit stiff when you handle him. Trying to quickly turn around when you were running the other direction feels a lot different compared to other games and it feels pretty stiff, much like his traction(which feels almost nonexistent). Also kicking enemies does feel a bit difficult to do at first. It does get easier with time, but even near the end I still found kicking to be inconsistent. Usually I would just run around and drop bombs everywhere because kicking was to frustrating in some parts(maybe this could be fix by making the dive act as another type of attack for certain enemies?). Also there are some oddly place traps and with some cannon placement latter on, it does seem to act as a sinister way to make a challenge for one part of the level. Since cannonballs can also go through walls, I often found myself getting ganked and falling off into pits because of it. Luckily these moments don't happen often, which is good. The platforming is also a bit weird, since it wants you to be fast enough to make a jump, but percise enough to not fall from great heights, Blanco start up speed makes it a bit odd to do this and I often found myself double jumping over tiny gaps just becaue I was afraid I might fall and have to do a section all over again. Sometime the platforming begs to be ran through, but then halfway through it makes you halt before you can keeping going again. However, you can overcome these little details like I did and appreciate the world created around Blanco. For every place that contradict your instincts, there's another that compliment it very well. Blanco has its flaws, but I believe that with a bit of work it can feel natural in anyone's hands. Blanco might look like someone only a square would like, but I think he's perfect for the game he's in. I honestly love the personality this game has and I hope development for this game continues on until this becomes a game that I can treasure, like the games from a simpler and better time.
So far my experience with Blanco has been quite enjoyable. The music is stellar, the gameplay is tight (aside from a few minor bugs, that is), and the graphics are simple, but charming. My only negative experiences with Blanco are due to bugs and my own incompetence. I would encourage all who are interested to check out the demo and see for yourself if you'd like it.
Blanco is a hidden gem on steam. An amazing soundtrack, Level design, and a tough challenge for a normal player. 9.0/10 - Me
This game is really fun! I do recommend a controller. The author is amazing and it was his first project. Great future head of him. Oh i bought this for my daughter but found i was having more fun than she was... LOL
Blanco is a really fun game. It's your regular 3d platformer but with 8-bit styled graphics. Pros : Almost everything Cons : Level selection is difficult, but once you figure it out, your likely to do a good job for the rest. If you don't like challange DO NOT PLAY! I like challanges so I love this game. The demo design is different from the full game though:/. 10/10
This game proves that 3D platformers are alive and well with interesting levels and music. However the kicking can be a bit delayed at times, though this does not afffect my overall experience with the game. I hope that this game will continue to get better over time.
If you like the gameplay of super mario 64 then you will fit right in this game.
seems to be abandoned. It's fairly fun to mess around with but unfinished.
