About
Blackjack Descent is a tense psychological horror roguelike where the classic rules of the card game are twisted and turned into a deal with fate. You find yourself in a dark basement casino, where not just the bank, but your life is at stake. Every night, you must sit down at the table against a sinister dealer to pay off a mounting debt.
Key Features:
Maniac Dealer.
Unlike classic Blackjack, the dealer doesn't follow fixed rules. He'll do everything he can to prevent you from winning...
Infected Deck.
The deck contains "infected" cards. These violate the standard Blackjack rules, alter point values, and trigger horror events, creating the effect of a "living" and hostile deck.
Charms and Amulets.
To increase your chances of survival and victory, purchase talismans and amulets of four rarities (common, cursed, ritual, and ancient). Each provides its own buffs during gameplay.
Two outcomes.
Your actions influence the ending: complete all six nights and pay off the debt in full to achieve the good ending and escape the room, or fail and become part of this cursed place in the bad ending.

It's an interesting game, the graphics remind me of Buckshot Roulette. It would be nice to work on the interface itself, but everything is fine.

Dark atmosphere, chilling sound design, and clever pacing create constant tension. Every corner hides danger, and the story slowly pulls you deeper into fear, making each moment intense and unforgettable.
Got It on sale for less than two bucks. For that price its a good deal it boots up it has a game play loop. Is it a good gameplay loop no. It's it a good game no, however for the price I did not expect it to be.
Its a really good idea, and looks very similar to clover pitts. Pretty much immediaitly i noticed issues with the game play loop. Being Brutally Honest: 1. its slow, and the game cycle is overly complex without any way to speed up or skip the multiple cutscenes that you have to watch over and over again. 2. To add onto the slow issue the game is also overly repetative, with everything that is said and what happens during each round. I don't need the exact same cutscene multiple times in the same round let alone run. The dealer says the exact same lines over and over again, and whats being said is usless. Its to much. "You will pay the debt" doesnt even make sense, no ♥♥♥♥ im going to pay the debt. 3. The game doesnt explain the infection properly, what its is or why it is or even how it works, so i understand that the coughing is related to the infection but how and why? Also, the coughing cutscene is to long for it being seen that long, also the random knife scene that pops up is just confusing. 4. The dealer being able to only hit [play a card] once makes it easy to make the money if u play multiple hands. 5. The multiple hands being able to be played from the very start makes the game even easier. I feel like this should be another form of upgrade you can earn. Now the bugs and gameplay issues themselves: 1. What is the point of the intrest earned if u cant take the slip of paper for the money on your last round even if ur intrest would be enough to pay it of the debt. 2. You need to be able to back out of the betting menu until you start the round, especially if u click in with less then $50 because you get stuck and you can't even hit esc to open the menu to exit the game. You just get stuck. 3. You need to make the windows key allow for tabing out, because the gameplay loop can get you stuck and the esc key won't work either. So mostly the game needs alot of work still. Feels kind of like a cash grab that copying other games but not putting the proper effort into making the game actually fun. So unless it is reworked a ton its not even close to being worth the money for others to buy even at only $10.50 CAD.
great idea fun idea poor excecution too much focus on building suspense slows the gameplay to a crawl making it a slog further compounded by the fact that theres only a handfull of ways they do this to the point of getting repeat dialog within the same hand i feel like the game has the ability to be great and fill the void that is blackjack in gaming but in its current state its just frustrating to play
Shameless copy of Clover Pit. At the same time it's too slow and clunky to give you those quick rushes you'd get from playing. Play Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers instead if you want to play a blackjack-themed roguelike.
This is not a bad attempt at the genre, it does the job pretty well. The art is ok. I don’t like the motion blur and what I think is some sort of smoothing? It made me sick trying to look around. I think having an option to disable that would be great! My main issue with the game was how unscary it was, the jumpscare wasn’t great, the tension wasn’t really there either. I did really enjoy the first round, round 2’s quota seemed impossible though, I had 50 credits and lost it immediately, and proceeded to die. But I do really enjoy the rest of the game!! It was fun trying to escape :) Not a bad game though, good job dev, I can see lots of potential here!
"You haven't won a single round against me. That was fun." This game turns a high-stakes game of blackjack into a tense survival horror experience against a sinister dealer. It fits right into that weird, psychological roguelike genre where every hand is a gamble with your life. Simple, creepy, and surprisingly satisfying when you win a round. I recommend this game if you GAMMMMBBBAAAAALLL! Gameplay
