A cool little artistic adventure. The way things color in as you walk is rad. Could use some more music to play in the background. Has a cool companion game by the same dev. https://youtu.be/anr7qDPOFvA
Pros: - Good visuals - Soothing music - Interesting Concept Cons: - Very slow gameplay and there's no run button to speed it up (which put me off quite majorly tbh) - Mouse sensitivity is out of control, and there's no options menu to fix this (also put me off quite majorly) - No camera control with controllers (at least with 360 controllers, apparently) (not really too much of an issue since I prefer keyboard controls for this kinda game anyway, but still) Overall 5.5/10.

It's a student's school exercise. It's a first draft, published before a teacher could suggest how to complete it.
????????不明所以
"Beyond Minimalism" seems like a student project or something, or some half baked "art" exhibition. The developer is honest about what this is, the writing on the box makes it clear it's a minimalist slog with a single quest... and if that sounds like a terrible idea for a game, then you have good perception. What do you do in the game? Plod very slowly around minimalist untextured low poly environments to solve the one quest you have. That's it. Yawn. That's why I say maybe this is an art experiment, and the experiment is to see how bad a game has to get before gamers won't put up with it. Except they were charging money for this, which is in fact more amusing than the game itself. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $4 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
This game was just being obtuse, making you wander around and setting you back to the start, also the "epic trolling" was really droll
