While the PC version of this game can be difficult to get running well, it is well worth the experience if you can. The first thing you will notice about Beyond Good and Evil is its 'Style'. It feels like a playable animated movie, and its art and music are solid through the whole game. On-foot sections, stealth sections, vehicle sections, and exploration sections are well shuffled so you don't feel like you are doing the same thing for too long. In many ways, BGaE is one of the last great adventure games - and while it has long deserved a sequel, I would not trade the inevitable open-world for the heart that this first game has.

The game itself is beyond reproach its brilliant however the graphics on this version are terrible...and laggy and they expect you to pay for very poor quality?

Good game from the PS2 days, but this is a broken version of the game left to rot by Ubisoft. It defaults to French language @ 480p. The game will play but it installs in the wrong location requiring you as the end user to edit the game's registry path location to change any game settings. Which you should never have to do to play a game. Since you can break your computer if you do something wrong. There is also audio desync with the voices. You also have to cap the FPS for this game at 60fps through Nvidia Control Panel, overwise the game runs at +2x speed. Edit: Also if you are having issues taking photos change your aspect to a 4:3 resolution. Example if you are playing on a 1080p monitor change your resolution to 1440p x 1080p under game settings, Modern aspect ratios for monitors stretch the image making it very difficult or impossible for the game to register in game photos. At least this is from my experience. Also the voice desync comes from running the game at 60fps. You will have to play the game at 30fps if you want to avoid the desync, unless you mod the game which I did not. Overall I did enjoyed my replay through of the game after all the fixes to run the game properly. I'm still waiting for BG&E 2 to release like everyone else that played this classic.
