Bejeweled Deluxe

It's Bejeweled, its one of those games you already know about and already know whether or not you enjoy it.

Bejeweled Deluxe is the most pure straight to the point match 3 game you'll ever play, this game is the game that popularized the match 3 genre and kick started PopCap's career meaning that Bejeweled Deluxe is the game you should thank for giving us games like Plants Vs Zombies, PvZ Garden Warfare 2, Peggle and much more, this game has earned respect for what it has done for the gaming community, but with that said I think $4.99 is a little too much for a game with two game modes, if you ever see this game selling for $0.99 however I'd say grab it for some retro style match 3 fun.

Bejeweled Delux Game Review (Disclaimer - This is just my opinion and may be unpopular or disliked.) (General) 1. It is a match-three video game. (Positive) 1. The game is an old game and has that retro nostalgic feel to it. 2. The game works on a high score base and doesn't have levels really so it can just be used to pass the time. (Negative) 1. It is just a game good enough to pass the time. 2. It isn't as good as other old games (like Zuma for example). 3. It gets repititive. 4. I don't enjoy games where all you can really do is set highscores. (The game just isn't for me.)

The mother of match-3 puzzle games began in 2000 as a browser game called Diamond Mine before releasing a year later for MSN Games as Bejeweled Deluxe where it immediately became the most-played game on their website. This version of the game is very simple and doesn't contain many features but it is still an enjoyable relic from the early days of the internet. There are only two game modes, Timed and Untimed, depending on how much stress you'd like to add to your day. The goal is to make enough color matches to score points that fill a bar at the bottom of the screen. Each time the bar is filled, players move on to the next stage. If the bar fails to be filled due to no more color matches available, it's game over. It is amusing that the developer and publisher of Bejeweled, currently known as PopCap Games, were originally known as Sexy Action Cool and developed online erotic video games such as Foxy Poker. It wasn't until they rebranded to family-friendly content that they started going by PopCap Games. Years later, we now get to enjoy a variety of successful erotic Bejeweled-inspired games such as HuniePop. Funny how things play out. Even though the first entry to this iconic series is barebones and simplistic, I still had a lot of fun playing it and would recommend it if you're curious to the beginnings of this classic franchise, especially since it's only a few bucks.

Elegant in its simplicity, Bejeweled by Popcap Games has become the very definition of Match 3 games. One of the first games where my kids would delight in beating my high scores. My kids are off raising their own families now, so I play for the memories. Highly recommended. And yes, I own the scoreboard now!

This is the simplest version of bejeweled. no exploding gems or lazer gems or anything. just match as many gems as possible and try to earn comboes. Personally prefer the more complex versions.
