Beeny

My only real complaint? No sequel and no extra levels! I was also very disappointed by the lack of a monthly subscription and a battle pass. (JK, this game is amazing!)

Es un juego muy bonito y con mucho potencial. Si no lo recomiendo es porque en 24 minutos lo hice todo y el juego no tiene más para ofrecer, ni siquiera rejugabilidad. Podría haber sido algo muy chulo pero no sé si por vaguería o que, ha quedado en una anécdota.

This game is an extremely short platformer with gameplay somewhat equivalent to Doodle Jump, which is free. However, it's entirely worth your dollar because the art and music, obviously inspired by Donkey Kong Country, are gorgeous, the difficulty (although the actual difficulty is braindead) is well-paced, and there are plenty of surprising moments. If you have 20 minutes to spare, it's good fun, but will I be giving this another playthrough? ...probably not. 6/10 Recommended

A short and kinda pointless 30 minute game that involves bring a bee up a tree for around ten stages. I will most remember the ghost stage because there is a weird creepy giant humanoid ghost face that looks inappropriately creepy for the type of game this is. The music is absolutely wonderful and I like the graphics but the game needed more than "tree climbing" over and over again. You can't lose on the normal game. After you finish, you play a "super kiwi 64" level that feels totally out of place, and then unlock the speedrun achievements. The speedruns are a joke because all you are doing is climbing the tree, and the time you have is pretty generous to reach the top. I only really had trouble with one of them. It's clearly trying to be like Donkey Kong Country, and there's nothing wrong with that. It massages all the nostalgia brain buttons perfectly and acts as a fun experience, but it's also not really replayable and too shallow to be considered great.

Beeny is a game about jumping and rolling through vertical platforming levels as a chubby bee, and I must say: What a lovely (although short) experience! This game got tight controls, good mechanics all around, and I was actually surprised as to how closely it imitates the graphics and music style of the Donkey Kong Country series. I completed the game 100% in under 30 minutes, and I was left wanting more. I hope Siactro one day makes a Beeny 2 with more levels and mechanics. If you are a fan of platformers, and specially if you played Donkey Kong Country back in the day, then Beeny is very much recommended for you, even at full price!
