A dark and unsettling narrative adventure that will shake you to your core. Take control of a reluctant investigator, trapped in a depraved and despondent world. BAFTA-winning and selected by the V&A for its pioneering narrative design, this disturbingly powerful story is unlike anything you've played.

Interesting experience
While there are moments of interest here, Becket has too many dull spots for me to recommend it.
This is a beautiful game. If you enjoy a narrative game with beautiful, creative graphics, this is the game for you. I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm really, really enjoying it.
Weird, artsy, dark. If you like unique experiences that don't just feel like every other game out there, this is a fantastic option.
Don't bother. The visuals are bad and the audio will make you kill yourself. Just go buy a book, you'll enjoy it more.
This game is not for everyone, you need to be at least interested in absurdism (like Beckett's work) or have some notion of Kafkaesque narratives. Besides that, you can find a pretty interesting work, with an engaging story and gorgeus art design. It can get a little too weird and just a bit too long (even being a really short game), but I'll say is enjoyable to me.

unpleasant and lovely
At the moment, not simultaneously but proximate, I am reading Naked Lunch and playing this game. Perhaps the book is recontextualising the game (Buroughs, hmm) but the literary experiment here is something that I absolutely recommend. It is an older game and I have played it before but some reviews are so wide of the mark that I felt I had to say that well at least I like it, liked it, and probably will the next time I play. Or rather experience and I think that is what upsets some people here.
I'm not even sure what happened to me. I am exhausted with a headache and I don't even know how to describe this multimedia mess that visually overwhelmed me and became annoying to deal with. I did everything on offer, read everything, and I cannot tell you a single detail worth mentioning--which speaks volume of the impression the material had. The game involves a lot of reading and the design choice made it extremely annoying--some reading segments made me nauseous. I also found the writing style too aggressive for what it tried to do. It really reminded me of the stuff the goth kids wrote in high school in the 90's after watching Clockwork Orange and googling philosophy seeing quotes of Kafka and Nietzsche, and fundamentally understanding nothing. I think I have brain damage.
