About
Battlewrights is a hilarious local multiplayer combat game for two to four players. The core mechanics are deceptively simple: Press button to throw your weapon, press it again to magically recall it. Repeat until you are the last person standing. Everyone can play. Every character plays the same. But if you want to take things further, try throwjumps, charged throws, perfect throws, self-evades and game-changing powerups.
If you throw your weapon mid-air, it lets you do something called a throwjump. Combine this move with walljumps and no platform is too high to reach!
You can also dodge your ene... friends projectiles by pressing the dodge button shortly before being hit. This opens up perfect opportunities to strike back!
If you really want to hone your movement skills, try the included time trial mode. Try to beat bronze, silver and gold times, or even dare challenging the coveted developer medal!

Love this game! The demo alone kept us entertained through multiple evenings with all our friends enjoying it. Also awesome pixel graphics and animations!
Great game not only for playing with friends, but also alone in time trial! Recalling the weapon is a really creative idea that opens up a lot of interesting strategies! It’s really easy to pick up but leaves a lot of room for doing shenanigans and mastering the controls. In a world with less and less great couch multiplayer games, this really stands out!
I can wholeheartedly recommend Battlewrights to anyone wanting a fun game to throw on with a couple friends. It gets pretty high energy as the game creates tense, epic moments. The controls are intuitive enough to get straight in and battling - even for inexperienced gamers - but deep enough to master the movement over a couple of sessions. I really appreciate the option for individual tutorials before a match, it's a great pressure-free way to learn the mechanics and also serves as a decent warm-up. This is the kind of game my living room has been missing, thanks for the game! Oh yeah, runs great on the Steam Deck too.
Very fun to play with friends. Even remote play works if the hoster has good internet! Nich mechanics with a pretty good learning curve but i see a lot of potential :)
Battlewrights is one of those games that just feels like it was made by a dev who genuinely loves making games. The local multiplayer is super fun, chaotic but perfectly balanced — easy to learn, but still deep enough that you can actually get better. The art style is super charming and the music just fits the game. And then there's the time trials, which are challenging enough to give the game another dimension. My brother and I spent 2 hours in A-1 trying to beat the top time, switching controllers back and forth. If you like games that are easy to pick up but hard to master, either solo against time or in front of a tv with friends, give this one a shot.
If you like Towerfall then this is definitely something to give a spin! It's different enough to be a great addition with the axe throwing and retrieving design. A bit like Towerfall X God of War. I had a blast playing it with two friends. A lot of yelling, laughing and revenge moments, really great to make new enemies 😂
Really fun couch coop game to hang out with friends. You can play via steam remote play but a lot more fun on the couch together
Intuitive, fun and engaging gameplay? Check. Awesome chiptune bangers? Check. Being able to win, even if you don't know, what you're doing? Also check. I can only recommend this game for some fun remote or couch co-op sessions!
big fun with friends and strangers alike. Offers a lot of skill expression if you want to, but that's all optional! Easy to pick up, hard to master type of PvP fun! Also loving the Time Trial mode, it's something to do
Great game! It's always a blast to play with friends. The throw recall mechanism adds a lot of tactical deapth to the game. Its easy to play but hard to master. Already played the demo a lot, but the full version brings in more interesting features.
