To be honest, I got hooked on this game. I'm currently on my 2nd run of the game on it's third act, and I'm still enjoying it a lot. The gameplay has actually interesting mechanics with the risk system and positioning units, especially if you were to have a unit with the Nightmarish trait. The art style in the CGs are very well done. From the campfire scenes to some of the other event CGs in the story, CaptainGerBear did a great job on them. And Lukatt has some very interesting worldbuilding, with some solid environmental storytelling! Came for the beautiful men, stayed for the gameplay and characters as well. Though if there was one thing I wish the game had, it's more trusted scenarios between 2 characters, and more character interactions as well. Let me bond with them and get to connect with them better in the game. Also I wish all the characters got more love.
The game is one of the best Bara/Gay and Male-focused games I've played in a long time. Everything is more or less tailored for the gay male gaze and it really makes people like me feel seen. Quality-wise the game is challenging without being oppressive and the combat is extremely simple to learn and use. There's a whole lot of skills though and keeping them in mind is often the difference between success and failure in combat, so I'd say while simple the combat most certainly has depth. The art style is delightfully gruesome sometimes with a decent amount of creepyness without forgoing novelty. And the music score is haunting without losing a certain vintage charm. It's a 10/10 game and one of the few I'm more than willing to put extra playthroughs in.
all jokes aside of this being a type of persons game its actually fun
Old title from the 2010's but this one is truly a mature game. Fun gameplay loop and dialogue from the cast.
... you can softlock... the tutorial. ... ??? if you use the ordinary key on the wrong door and can't learn the spell, you just have to restart from the beginning, it would seem. this is... not told to you at all.
extremely underrated game
Got this game as a gift from one of my buddies. I went for Buggery to heal every turn than leveled warding and defense. I got one of the main story characters who also heals every turn, and does it way more efficiently than my character btw, while I got my glass cannons in the back mowing the lawn. Still haven't learned how the rock, paper, scissor magic system works yet, but honestly doesn't really matter when the wall of enemies are breaking their wrists against my beefy sexy werewolf boys.
This is easily the most generic and brain rotting vibe that i got from a game in a very long time. The starting menue itself heavily repelled me as did the entire intro sequence. This seems like an ai game.
Honestly, this game is such a treat. I saw a Review from Sseth, this is the type of game I look forward playing. Combat was snappy, Pixel Art is great, the Music is pleasant. My favorite has to be the Boss and Main Battle Theme. Minimal Animation sells the atmosphere a lot, the objective was to get out of here as soon as possible but it is quite open ended too. Got into a very Dangerous Area and manage to get out unscaved if you time your Risks and have Ranged weapons and Mages. But the very minutia of my complain is that the Skills aren't varied. I am just a third of a way from this game and I am happy I bought it.
Simple yet elegant mechanics that create surprisingly tactical combat. My favorite part of my first playthrough was having gay sex with a ghost. On my most recent playtrhough, I noticed that instead of the regular "Recruit" dialogue option when recruiting one of the early-game beefcakes, the option reads "I want you." This game scratches my nostalgic itch for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and improves on the experience with all the shirtless men. Lots of lore and world-building is done with the environment design and makes the world feel more alive. Note: I switched from PC to Mac since buying this game, so I've been re-playing the game on a borrowed Steamdeck. I have two complaints about the transition. First, the commands for R1 and L1 are inverted from right-click and left-click. Second, it really strains my hand to hold the button for taking reckless actions in combat. There is an in-game option to have that triggered by holding down the click/trigger instead, but the downside is you can't easily change your mind, but save my hand this is how I play now.
