Bargalian Regicide

"Good" is such a strong and myopic word to describe things. Bargalian Regicide has an aesthetic unlike anything else I've played, at once evoking Zeno Clash, Oblivion, and the alien sections of Half-Life. The music is ethereal, haunting, and instills a pleasant sense of confused unease. The combat takes some getting used to but is frantic and enjoyable, especially firing magic attacks while strafing through crowds. There are vistas and moments in this game unlike anything else I've played, and at $2 that's a ludicrous bargain regardless of the amount of jank in the tank.

This really scratches an itch in my brain I didn't know I had. The way that you get just enough information about "why things are the way that they are" is enough to just simply say "okay..?", but in a good way. Kinda peeved that I couldn't do the bad choice in the end and follow through with Talurbas, but that doesn't subtract from anything. All of the weapons are unique and neat and the environments are weird and easy to get lost in, but at the same time are really straight forward. The soundtrack is SPECTACULAR. It fking rules dude I wanna buy it as DLC or something. Please keep making stuff this game is great and I love you.

2€? I loved it, but wouldn't recommend it if it had more reviews. Should dev remake it I would pay 10€ Animations don't exist, also there is ZERO exploration rewards making this interesting original world a chore to experience. Exposition is poop, you never see the character you're talking to. The story has potential. Why is the camera fixed???

1-hit death mode was too easy, next time maybe try adding more mages to blast me through walls before I see them.

It was good but I went through a tunnel hoping for super secret loot in the levitation device level and softlocked. 3,2/5

The gameplay is quite bad, movement speed is way too high and there is no weight to the combat. I love the aesthetics but the consistency of execution smells like AI to me.

There's something weird about this game that, despite having very simple gameplay and visuals, it scratches a very ethereal and strange itch that just leaves you satisfied with the basic way the character moves, as well as the very confusing but still enchanting worldbuilding and landscapes. Pretty nice gem in the rough that's certainly worth more than $2
