Prototypr - Spoiled Red Riding Hood
Little Red was a boy who had a loving family, living with his father, mother, and grandmother. However, for some reason, his grandfather lived separately in the depths of the forest.
Little Red Riding Hood had a strong bond with his grandfather, and he always wore the red hooded cape that his grandfather had given him.
He often ventured alone to visit his grandfather, and he would often encounter a kind hunter. The hunter seemed to take care of his grandfather, and their relationship appeared to be quite good. Little Red Riding Hood also had a secret crush on the hunter. However, for some reason, his grandmother despised the hunter.
On the day after Little Red Riding Hood turned 18, he and his family had spent a joyful birthday celebration at home.
Wanting to share his happiness with his grandfather and hoping to see the hunter he secretly admired, Little Red Riding Hood carefully packed his birthday cake and embarked on his journey to visit his grandfather...

Release: 12th Oct 2024 Last Update 21th Sept 2024 No More Updates now as the Reviews are Bad - according to Developer https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2587400/view/4488493094383124758
The feedback from testing the game prototype was very bad. Therefore, this game will not continue development. Please continue to support our other games!
5 Reviews in total 3 Positive 2 Negative.
While I have MANY issues with this, I'll recommend it just because I think the devs can make this work with proper development. I went in expecting more than 1 prototype, but alas, it was just Red Riding Hood, without even a NSFW CG to finish off the story. I don't like giving negative reviews for indie devs (unless they truly deserve it) because of how much reviews actually affect how steam views their projects, so I'll just recommend it and go into more detail here. If you're thinking of playing this, give it a try if you want and have some free time, but don't expect anything. The story is a tad bare-bones, just being Little Red Riding Hood with some twists
namely the Hunter being with the grandpa, and the Big Bad Wolf knowing this isn't how the story is meant to play out
which does have potential but it seems like they're going for a collection of short stories, so I don't really know. The graphics are pretty bad, sure the actual sprites of The Hunter and the Wolf are hot (and honestly the dad and grandpa too), but the rest of the game leaves a lot lacking. Buggy textures, ugly models, colors that make my eyes hurt, etc. It's not unfixable, but a simpler overworld would have been so much better. As for the vn aspect... why even have any moments where you give multiple options if there are no other choices? The game gives you no choice of Little Red's action to prove he's just a brat, but when you do it over and over again it starts to get tiresome. Also, one choice is a Gay/Straight route... What? Is there ANYONE playing this game that's straight? Sound-wise it's just placeholder stuff (I assume... hopefully) so I won't say too much about it, but hearing the start of the same song over and over again when you start a different scene gets annoying fast. Lastly, AI images. I knew of it going into it, of course, but still. If you gave blank blue models for some of the characters was there any need to give a portrait image to the guards or the random little kid? As an artist, it just gets under my skin so much. I know so far this has been mostly negative, with reason, but I genuinely think the game could be good if it gets more stories added, the graphics get fixed, and in general the game just gets developed. This is supposed to be a tech demo, but maybe it just needed a bit more time before releasing for testing. Specifically it probably needed a NSFW CG, if they don't add any, in the future THAT is a crime lmao. I just wanted to see the Hunter and the Wolf together , y'know?

Hated the red prototype. The graphics are very poor - terrible NPC figures and these blue men for characters you can interact with. The story was silly and poorly written too. I liked the Red and Hunter graphics, but I hated the way Red was written. This one is a strong No in my opinion.
I don't know, it probably should have shipped with slightly more prototypes? There's only a single one, and honestly I think it would have worked better as a pure visual novel instead of having 3D scenes you can move around in. It's not exactly fun, you have a hard time to find your way, and the story should definitely be improved. Sure, the game makes it clear the main character is a spoiled kid, but so far it just makes him annoying and it doesn't add anything important to the plot. Maybe for the conflict at the end, but this could have happened for another reason. Every character sucks except the dad I guess, the mysterious figure being the protagonist's friend doesn't make sense at all, there could have been an introduction and a reason how they met. It's clear he's just in to eat the granny anyway. I'm also personally not a fan at all of the uses of AI, it could have simply been cut and it wouldn't have changed anything to the game. I think there's something there, I would buy a full game of it, but the core really needs to be polished first.

I enjoyed the concept. The potential is there for it to become a really novel and interesting game. I like the art style and really loved how the village looked, especially at night with the lights showing in the windows and the torches. The concept of a classic fairy tale being in an alternate mirror verse where Red is male and can be gay based on the choice upon meeting the Hunter character was nice to see. I know it was a test to see how everyone would react to it, and i'm sad to see it will not have any updates. I would encourage you to not give up on it completely but adjust things and revisit it again. I would like to see options to have Red be nice, and not be angry or lying in responses. Have options to be nice to the friend he meets showing off the new clothes, and running errands. The dad really loves Red and wants to do better for the family, have that be appreciated. I read other reviews about the story path, and have to agree having Red be selfish really fell flat. The music choices were wonderful as well. I didn't mind the AI generated faces on the generic NPCs you meet, but changing them up so that everyone in town didn't look the same would be something nice to see. I received this for free, but could definitely see it being a game i'd purchase if it was a finished item. It was something different from what I currently have in my library.
Overall a solid prototype! I see a lot of the reviews are criticizing the MC and graphics but idk why, the game literally tells you its a prototype?? and that the MC changes in the story. it's not even a demo so don't expect high quality game play. I think the concept is great, the world is really cool and visually interesting and some of the character concepts are really good (hot wolf guy, hot narrator guy, etc.) Obviously because this is a prototype the dialogue is not great and the camera angle is a bit annoying as it would be better if it was angled up a bit more. If something like this went into development i would happily buy a medieval themed bara dating game.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
"BARA Labs" is a selection of completely, utterly garbage LGBTQIA+ friendly tech demos (not to be confused with actual games) that were dumped onto Steam to see if gamers would tolerate garbage made out of AI Slop. The verdict? Gamers had badly done games almost as much as they hate AI slop... this was a dismal failure so the developer gave up (and hopefully got a job they're more suited to doing, because game development ain't it). What do you do in the game? These are just pointless short minigame garbage tech demos, not really fully playable, and they're also bug riddled disasters. With AI slop to make things worse. AI slop is never okay. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. The graphics aren't great, AI slop, and everything else is either horribly low quality or just your usual asset flips and plagiarism from the looks of it. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Not on a bet. This might be "free", but I still feel like I got ripped off. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere.
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 116 / 447 Category: 3D Vision "This Game is a Mess, But at Least the Music Slaps" Wow… where do I even begin? First off, this isn’t a “collection of small games.” It’s one game, and it’s about as well-put-together as a sandwich made by a toddler. You play as some bratty kid pretending to be Red Riding Hood. Plot? Doesn’t matter. The game makes sure of that. The settings menu doesn’t work, which feels symbolic of the entire experience. Dialogue scenes are a circus. You trigger a cutscene, but the moment it starts, you’re free to run around. I managed to drag the mom halfway across the map while she was still stuck in her dialogue bubble. She was probably wondering how she got teleported to a castle mid-sentence. And let’s talk about the characters. Or rather, the blobs that I think are supposed to be characters. They’re so unfinished they look like they’re in alpha testing for life. To top it off, there’s random AI art slapped in, which matches the aesthetic like pineapple on pizza—except worse, because I actually like pineapple on pizza. The only thing remotely enjoyable is the music. It’s not spooky or atmospheric; it’s just there, like elevator music in purgatory. Honestly, just release the soundtrack and call it a day.
