Bar is a colorful incremental game with complex gameplay mechanics built around filling the bar. Filling the bar gives you rewards that allow you to fill the bar even faster. Unlock various upgrades to fill the bar at absurd rates.

Highly recommend if you're looking for a clicker style game. As a friend of the creator, I've seen the passion and care she has been putting into this game. As of writing, BAR is still in beta but that doesn't diminish it's enjoy-ability. Although the mechanics may seem overwhelming upon first glance, it doesn't take long to get a firm grasp on the core concepts. It's very easy to get addicted to and thoroughly enjoyable.
This game is very poorly thought out and feels more like a gamejam prototype than a game that belongs on steam. This is not an incremental or an idle game. This is basically an auto-battler with mandatory clicking, and a very bad one. Your units are filling the bar and enemy units are unfilling it. Enemy units are generated randomly each wave and they tend to have hard countering abilities to your units, which makes it impossible to make any build work - because one wave your units function and then next wave suddenly they don't because enemy units happened to spawn that counter them - game over. Feels very stupid and random.
Man, this game is fun, but god is it hard to describe. This game is a weird mix between a roguelike (the game is split up into runs) and an incremental game, stuff like Cookie Clicker and Antimatter Dimensions with a focus on more active play than idle, and leaning much more towards the incremental part of the genre mix than the roguelike. The game also doesn't explain all too well how it works, although there is an official guide on Steam for it, and the game does incrementally introduce new mechanics and essentially (not so subtly) forces you to interact with them. The onlyt real issue the game has in my eyes is that the game is kinda slow as f'ing garbage, but part of the game is going further into the game at faster and faster rates. Overall, fun game though, would recommend if you enjoy incremental games. Edit: I just unlocked the fast forward button, so the game does get a lot faster as you progress, but the game is asking for a decently large time investment (although not that large considering the genre) to unlock it
Nice time user
Fun concept, rough around the edges and the early game seems slow, but we'll see how I feel after some more time. Very barlike.
I really wanted to recommend it but i just can't. Why? 1. I can't seem to find a pause feature anywhere, which is a fatal flaw for anyone with a life, pets, children or a wife. Particularly since between rounds there is a timer on choosing upgrades. so if you are pulled away it can ruin an entire run, which can be an hour long. 2. many of the effects and widgets are poorly explained and/or bugged. and with such limited time to read them before you lose your pick, that's a huge issue. one example of a bug - i have grow effect at 20 due to ant farms and enemy has a -10 wyre but i'm still loosing bar? i should be gaining 10 each grow tick. either wyre is not correctly described or is not working as intended. 3. an update became available and the game shrieked (despite being muted) and threw up black bars and crashed. that was either a horrible bug or a horrible design decision... oh and it woke my wife at 4am.. thanks for that. Basically, the game IS fun and has a lot of potential but just has too many experience ruining flaws, some in design and others probably bugs, that make it not playable for people with more on their plate than just sitting in front of a game for an hour or two at a time.
I don't typically play incremental games at all, but with playing Loot Train and enjoying that quite a bit, I decided to check out BAR since I thought the developer had well established that game in a positive view. Jumping into the game for the first time gave a good, straight forward introduction to how this kind of game would work out. Showing new mechanics such as colors and swatches, along with soon after showing the different kinds of widgets gave variety and enjoyment with the new ways to play. Over time as I played more and more, enjoying each of the colors and how they individually play I soon got to see the achievements. I don't really care about achievements in games at all unless they actually mean something with a cosmetic change or minor detail. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I would get rewards that affected the core game if I went to try and do these challenges. I think this would actually be the first game I have played that I might 100% (Unless the developer decides to make 100 achievements or something). I was genuinely spooked a little from the games hidden elements and how you can get pass those to access helpful tools to aid in getting higher in the bars and making things feel more convenient. My initial gripe with Bar was the fact that sessions can get quite long and excruciating to really push forward into the game but thankfully the added tools fixed this issue with things like 2x and 3x speed. The swatch collection is quite vast and it seems like it will be expanding soon with a new update at some point. I am quite excited to see what new combos and interactions I can make with the new swatches. Machines are a nice way for me to look at different aspects of the game in a neat way, thinking about evening the leveling on my swatches and trying to push for every 100 bars to fully optimize the future I will say in my experience, there are some widgets in the game that I feel don't have much impact or are strictly worse compared to a counter part, along with a whole mechanic feeling weak and ineffective. An example of this would be Bandage or Tyre. For Bandage I understand it is suppose to be a utility widget that combines something like Tyre and Spray bottle but I almost never pick it up over either of the other options. While cleansing the bar is quite impactful, there are multiple situations where having more than one is necessary. Holding it down for secure isn't good enough to warrant a spot on my team. As for Tyre itself, there isn't much of a reason yet to build up secure other than delay the opposing fill. With augments and swatches, typically it is just flat better to fill more of the bar to beat the bar rather than wasting time making secure. For the mechanic that feels completely weak and useless, it would be hold in all aspects. Of the hold widgets that we have at the moment, only Megaphone has a proper use. Every other one feels horrible to run and has less impact rather than click or tick. With so many negatives to it such as complete interruption for a hold from a deactivate, slow and while bigger number doesn't match well with tick or click, and has almost no synergies with hold at all. It is forgettable and I never pick it up. I hope the developer gives a ton of support or rework to hold as it seems completely outclassed. Outside of that, I have been having a blast with BAR and the sheer amount of progression and simplicity to it gives me a great time to play. I wish this would be possible on mobile as it would make an amazing phone game. I would highly recommend anyone who plays clicker games or incremental games to give BAR a try. Updates seem to come quite quickly and I am looking forward to seeing the next step towards BAR.
this game changed my life. i was once just a meddling serf at the bottom of the pyramid scheme, but after using my entire tri-monthly paycheck on this game, i knew it was time to make some changes around here. what had to be done was now in my hands, and its all thanks to this game. the bar going up was just so inspiring and the bottles they were really hard and i couldnt get past them. that is what made me realise that my life is in my hands, and i worked my ass off in the pyramid scheme in hopes of reaching the top. sadly, 2 weeks later it all fell apart and the members dissipated and i had nowhere left to turn except for this game and
this really fills my bar. edit: DO NOT STARE AT THE BUGS OH GOD
https://youtu.be/ZEec5P0aKLA?si=FGidwpE_5aFwKSvW Its a solid game was a little confused during the tutorial but pushed through it and everything after that was satisfying. I got a video from my new YouTube channel and the video is actually doing pretty well! Enjoy!
