Can't wait until I get the others chapters. I would love to see more games like this. 10/10
Hm...very short game. About 30-ish minutes long. Got stuck for a bit because of the locked door leading into the hallway to the bedrooms then I suddenly opened the cupboard and got a key. Don't know why it didn't open the first time. The story feels nonsensical so I can't say I'm interested in the game or it's sequels. I tend to avoid RPGMaker esque games due to poor writing and reused assets and I only played this game because I saw an art competition from Newgrounds hosted by the creator and because the first chapter was free. The fact that it's wrapped around Christianity and references it also puts me off. The main character, Detective Clint Lancaster also seems to lack decent reactions at certain points throughout the story. Intrusive neighbor just barges into a home where a suicide recently occurred? Hi! I'm Clint! Here's my life story! So to wrap things up, would I personally recommend it? No. However, despite being RPGMaker esque, I don't think there are any reused art assets and it's free to play anyway, so play it if you want to kill about 30 minutes. I give props to the creator for making the first chapter free. That way, if you do enjoy the story, you can buy the rest.

AC: Chapter 1 is a pixel art game with a nostalgic feel. The story itself peaks audiences interest but can be predictable most times. It is an average horror game, in my opinion and could do with more layers of complexity in terms of story and creativity in gameplay. I think younger audiences would enjoy this much more. I do, however, think it hold some amount of potential.

Asking for help! Could the Developer send me a link of the guide? I'm a little stuck... So sad. I like this game and I really want to finish playing. Couldn't find any guides of this game in the discussion groups.

"Azurael's Circle: Chapter 1" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Azurael's Circle". Azurael's Circle is a basic, really crappy RPG Maker asset flip (I think there are some custom assets in there too, because they look really bad). The developer couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make a JRPG (the only thing it can do, and it's really bad at it). Instead, it's a garbage tier top down adventure game with a lame supernatural theme. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Azurael's Circle, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Azurael's Circle: Chapter 1" too. The objective of this advertisement is to get you to spend $8 USD unlocking the full parts of the game. I don't recommend you do. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
