Awake is an isometric puzzle game about a young girl named Aya who is suffering from insomnia. Accompanied by her trusted plushie Bunnard, Aya must navigate various obstacles in her path as she moves between different planes of consciousness. Join Aya on her journey to explore the depths of her dreamscape and uncover the root of her anxieties. Players will navigate various puzzles by sliding and otherwise manipulating the obstacles in her path. But here's the twist: there's two sides to every puzzle. In order to progress through our game, players will need to seek puzzle solutions from a different angle...

For the true experience, I played Awake while awake at 4am. The mechanic of flipping the puzzle works well, and the puzzles are interesting, with more than one way to solve and some red-herring items included so there isn't a unique and obvious solution. The graphics are very pretty. The story looks interesting but evolves very slowly. There appear to be 24 levels, but I'm too sleep-deprived to pass Level 20, and so far there has only been mystery in the narrative without any answers. I'd like to know the ending, but having waved goodbye to my spatial awareness hours ago, I don't think I'm going to get there! The game seems to struggle technically; loading is rather slow and there's a pause between levels as if it's having difficulties with the high graphics. However, this doesn't affect the gameplay, and the controls work smoothly. Since it's free, it's definitely worth a look. Unfortunately for me, I'm too brain-dead to complete it today. I can't match the protagonist's ability to function while deprived of sleep. Are you up for the challenge?

Consisting of 24 levels, the game does require some mental gymnastics and puzzle solving capability. Controls are a bit fiddly and take some getting used to (Mouse and Keyboard at least). Graphics are decent, nothing stunning but they fit well to the theme of the story. Loading time between levels does seem to take a bit long, but only by a few seconds. Sound design was also quite interesting, though a little bit lackluster between the characters interaction with some items; however the subtle difference between the brighter and darker side help set the tone well. Story was somewhat lackluster and didn't end the way I had anticipated but was still satisfying. Still in need of some polishing (note, game is still in Early Access so considering this it's a complete game). Overall, worth checking out for a free game and spending time finishing.
"Awake" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This abandoned Early Access student project wasn't made with gamers in mind, heck, it wasn't made with PC gamers in mind either, this was obviously intended to be a mobile app. Once more Steam has no use for these people other than a dumping ground for garbage they can stroke their egos about. Nothing of value was delivered to us gamers here, we don't need more Early Access abandonware pollution. It's also bad for amateur developers who do the right thing and make complete games... they have to compete with all this trash for an audience. If you try to play what there is of it, you'll find a really poor 2.5D/isometric grid puzzle/block placement game, yeah, a thematic ripoff of Sokoban. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that on top of all the other problems, there's zero originality or creativity here. But, you know, once more this wasn't made for gamers. At best, we're an afterthought. The developers abandoned this 3 years and 1 month ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. While I couldn't find this on the mobile app stores, everything about it looks and feels like it's a mobile app designed for mobile phones... for PC gaming enthusiasts, it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We don't spend thousands building gaming rigs so that we can pretend they're iPhones and play iPhone games and mobile apps. The graphics are lacklustre because this was designed for mobile phones, not gaming PCs. Whenever a product is designed to run tolerably on 5 year old iPhones, it's obviously not going to come close to the minimum quality standards that PC gaming enthusiasts except on their cutting edge gaming rigs. One more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. PC gamers don't spend thousands on their gaming rigs so they can pretend they're iPhones. That alone is enough to disqualify this for recommendation. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
great game! really love the calm music and the story, especially the last journal picture the controls are a bit wack and there's no real settings, but it's not too bad considering it's early access can't wait to see the full game!
İzometrik açıya sahip güzel bir bulmaca oyunu şahsen ben beğendim ama bulmacalar biraz daha zor olabilirmiş.

Очень добрая квест-стратегия про то как снится сон
Before I played Awake, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
