Good
Very interesting and difficult game
A potentially interesting puzzle game, mired in implementation issues which are mostly fixable Good: - free - this puzzle type is unique (or at least I haven't seen it anywhere): you need to place characters in allowed spots in the level, then set the direction (right or left) where they will start moving, then possibly set several toggles for ladders and such - and then watch to see if your characters (while running on their own!) collect all the needed keys, defeat enemies and finally reach the exit So-so: - the "pixelated" graphics aren't bad but have this amateurish feel because the scale of "pixels" varies across different objects. In the level elements the pixels are of average size, in character sprites they are bigger, in the backgrounds the pixels are very large, and in the UI and the symbols on toggles (rotation buttons, lootable items) the pixels are tiny. UI fonts aren't pixelated at all, texts are placed into big empty areas filled with stretched, blurred images. So, despite the nice art, it all looks like an unfinished student project. The 2 fixes I can think of here are: 1) abandon the "pixelated" style entirely, redraw everything in higher resolution and have bilinear sprite scaling everywhere, 2) make at least the toggles and the UI elements bigger in the game but drawn with fewer "pixels" - the game has an obvioius mobile feel in its UI design. I suspect they also had much smaller screens than 1920x1080 in mind when designing the UI. There are too many menus. E.g. in game options they could place the few options they have in a single screen rather than making 3-level hierarchies Bad: - texts appear letter-by-letter. To make it worse, texts are center-aligned, which means that after every letter the text moves a bit to re-center. Instead of this, the text should just appear all once! - English texts are shaky. This wouldn't be that important if this weren't a puzzle game where understanding instructions, rules and function of the game's elements is critical to be able to solve levels. The devs need to hire some English native speaker who would play through the game and correct the texts. This person would need to understand the game first btw - there is no proper tutorial. The instructions that do exist in the first levels are poorly written and explain nothing. I did get through to the 4th level through trial-and-error (which wasn't fun at all) but that's not how it should be The game is unfinished and wasn't tested. Probably it's free because it's supposed to be an alpha test or "early access" where they hoped to get feedback from players before a proper release. Anyways, I hope my review helps. As it is now, the game is not really in a playable state.
