Hilarious. While the style and humour is written with Austen's wit, the situations are definitely more fun for a modern audience. With a few more plays I have seen different scenarios for each chapter, and little suprises such as the oppurtunity to talk to the bachelor on your own to gain more affection. Only problem is the +2 to wit I won with a correct answer didn't appear, and when the new chapter began, it stopped playing on one of the girl's turns. Not frozen, just not moving.
Like others have said, the voice over is the highlight but the game itself is repetitive.
Quite a funny little game - I'm enjoying it ! It installed and worked great for me. The overall look and sound of the game are quite charming - and the satire quite satirical! I enjoyed unleashing ants under rivals skirts and comparing their dresses to harp covers to beat them to my chosen bachelor. Would recommend to anyone who likes a casual and clever short game with high replayability and of course, enjoys Austenesque wit and ruthlessness :)
Great game for all fans of Jane Austen. Definitely much fun when you play with your friends.
Witty and charming little game. Playing it with friends is probably better than playing along. I really like the narrator's voice.
This is so cute! I wish I had this years ago. I love all things Jane Austen and the tongue-in-cheek vibe is ridiculously fun. There's a multi-player mode so you can play locally with friends. I haven't done much with that (still in the middle of a pandemic at the time of this writing) but I'm looking forward to introducing this to all of my fellow Jane Austen friends as soon as possible. Definitely worth it for the experience!
I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and I really enjoyed this game. I wish there were more Jane Austen-based games out there. The game does get a bit repetitive, but that's unavoidable for the game's format. Sometimes I think I've got the game figured out, but the algorithm still manages to pull a surprise. It has good replay value in that sense. I really liked the diversity of the skin tones and hair colours. The customisation options don't add much to the gameplay I would say, but they are a fun touch to have. I do wish some of the unskippable transitions can be skipped. I also wish there was a skip button on screen to skip scenes instead of using a click to do so. There were a couple of times where I accidentally clicked more than once and two scenes were skipped when I really only wanted to skip one.
Great Satirical Visual Novel/ Party Game Hybrid, Love the artstyle. Worth getting if your a Jane Austen fan or have a crew to play multiplayer with. Thumbs Up!
A very cute game, much harder than it looks at first glance.
