"That game where you can pee, poop and puke." -- this is a 2D platformer with 360° aiming. It is violent, it is fast, it is absolutely over the top. Jump around, slide, dash and dunk into enemies to kill them, and then eat them. On your quest for meat you encounter a lot of deadly traps in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Atomic Butcher: ♥♥♥♥ Metabolicus is with no doubt one of THE best retro-like 2D action platformers on the market right now, and Atomic Butcher´s epic Metal soundtrack alone makes the game worth picking up. Pros: + Fun O´plenty and lots of eggs and hidden stuff + Epic metal soundtrack + Tons of weapons and things to kill + Super cool explosion effects + Impressive retro graphics + Massive boss fights + Neat special abilities and 360° aiming Cons: – The game might gross you out – Bugs and glitches – The difficulty level could be a turn off for some Gameplay: 5/5 Graphics: 4/5 Sound: 4/5 Controls: 4/5 Replay Value: 4/5 Verdict: 4/5 ***Full review*** http://thegg.net/?s=Atomic+Butcher%3A+♥♥♥♥+Metabolicus+PC+review ***Gameplay video*** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Znvg6TfnhQ
Be the contents whatever your personal perception of truth is, but the style is impeccable and movement with the game's mechanics feel fluid.. Also, the story seems like a flash warning.. if not an allegory for the modern societal issues.
It's kind of fun, I prefer the old free version of the game from back in the day though. You can still find it out on the web. It had better, simpler graphics and the Butcher didn't look so retarded. Same gameplay for the most part but I prefer the look of it and the smaller character sprite. I have fond memories of being a broke alcoholic and playing this game a lot decades ago.
So ive finally beaten this game and it was quite hard, but once you learn how to use the abilities like dash, slide, jump, piss and some patterns for boss fights its very enjoyable and smooth. But why am i even talking about this? Atomic Butcher h. metabolicus is a sequel or resumption of a 2004 platformer shooter of the same name, which I have not played, but from what i ve seen the sequel is just the same idea but much better. Both games are basically diy project of two enthusiasts, and that's a bit visible on the technical state of the game, but it also adds a certain charm and originality. For me it became one of my top favourite games, for several reasons. Firstly i am a fan of 90s/00s era games like Abuse 1995 and this just fits perfectly in terms of style, but also adds something new (if you mind 4:3 crt ratio, its probably not for you). Secondly finding something more over the top, crazy ,violent and unconventional would be very hard. The soundtrack composed by two members of Austrian black metal band Locus Neminis is just awesome mixing metal, industrial and techno. But lets also mention some downsides of this game, forexample the sound of Flying Meat Skull is ridiculously loud, the optimalization is not the best and the gameplay felt a bit short. To sum it up its unique, fast, funny and i can only recommend to give it a try.
