ATOMANTA was an absolute blast! It’s challenging in the best way possible, with multiple difficulty modes that let you ease into it or push yourself with hard mode. The stage select feature is great too, it lets you practice tough levels and experience everything without you needing to be good (I'm bad yes ^^') There’s replayability thanks to hidden secrets, different modes, and unique boss fights that each bring their own attack patterns and surprises. The weapon system is also really fun. Different shot directions, bombs as special abilities, and mechanics that keep combat engaging such as multiple weapon patterns (front weapon, back weapon and railgun). The soundtrack deserves a special mention: it’s pure synth-driven arcade goodness, the kind of music you’ll want to listen to even outside the game. Hard to believe this is the work of a solo indie developer. There is stuff planned for the future including an upcoming achievement system for those who want to unlock it all! Definitely recommending checking this one out!
I love this game! This is a game that I can play over and over and over. The bullet patterns are genius, the weapon sets are super fun, the cut scenes make me remember the 16bit era, when I was playing super metroid. There is a nostalgic thing going on but the music wakes you up from the dream and trust me, you need to be in the zone! If you blink, you will loose a life. I played so many shmups before and this game is so fair. Is not Axelay where the gameplay makes you memorize everything after your 10th playthrough. In this game if you can have fun while you learn the patterns and omg, again, the weapon sets are so fun! It feels crispy (when you destroy the enemies) it feels rewarding (when you find secret stuff, no spoilers) and when you die, we'll, its your fault because the game teaches you little by little how to react to the challenges about to come. Not an easy game, not ridiculously hard, fun and engaging. Please give it a try and enjoy the trip. Btw the voice acting is so cute!!!
Atomanta is such a treat to play! The visuals pop, the music keeps your energy up, and those bullet patterns are absolutely gorgeous. It’s tough, for sure, but in that “just one more run” kind of way that keeps you hooked. I really love how smooth and polished everything feels. Bullets are super clear, the action flows perfectly, and every stage has its own vibe. The nostalgic visuals even remind me of the shmups I grew up with, which makes it feel extra special. You can tell a lot of love went into making this game. If you enjoy shmups (or even if you’re just curious about the genre), Atomanta is a must-play. I’m already excited to jump back in for another run!
BOOOMBS !!!!!
English The gameplay is very satisfying, the challenge feels fair, and overall the game was a pleasure to play from start to finish. One thing I really enjoyed was the feeling of progression. With each new attempt, I could clearly feel myself getting better, which made every run rewarding and kept me coming back. The soundtrack is also excellent and really complements the gameplay. Highly recommended.
