The Jump scares will smack you in the face and knock you out of your seat! The atmosphere of this game is amazing with the sounds and you never know when a enemy will appear. Game Rating 7/10 My Playthrough https://youtu.be/04NRozLt_8w?si=wSweZ9Jc5GlqESNX
At Death's Door is hands-down one of the scariest games I’ve ever played—and without question the most terrifying Unity game I’ve come across. What makes it so effective is its masterful use of ambience and sound design. You can go long stretches without encountering a single scare, yet the audio constantly keeps you on edge, making you feel like something is always just around the corner. That said, a big part of your time will be spent simply exploring and soaking in the dread-filled atmosphere and unraveling the mystery of how the hospital went abandoned and the patients it harbored—if that slow-burn style isn’t your thing, this might not be the game for you. What’s funny is I’m not even into these kind of games. I picked this up solely for the horror vibe—and I was not disappointed. Even though the levels stay the same, it still offers a ton of replay value for just $10. Bottom line: Give it a shot. It’s a seriously underrated gem that proves you don’t need a huge budget to craft an unforgettable, immersive horror experience.
I’ve only just started the full version of At Death's Door, but I spent a lot of time with the demo, and it absolutely hooked me. The eerie atmosphere, immersive storytelling, and psychological horror elements were all there in the demo, and I'm thrilled to see that the full game builds on it beautifully. Even in just a few minutes, I can tell this is going to be something special. If the demo grabbed you, the full version is absolutely worth it.
I'm an avid fan of indie horror titles, and boy howdy this game was RIGHT in my wheelhouse in terms of stuff I love to play. As a horror buff, it was easy to pick up on where the Dev's inspirations were coming from, and I wholeheartedly believe that they showed that off in a tasteful manner. Compelling story, well written lore/characters, and the eerie atmosphere was the icing on the cake in this game. There were a few kinks, all of which the dev's are currently working out, but that didn't hinder the gameplay or make it any less of an enjoyable experience. Some of the puzzles were pretty challenging, but hey that's not such a bad thing considering I am a pretty dense gamer at times.. All in all? I loved it. That ending left me CRAVING for more. Huge thanks to Azimyth for letting me play this and give my own unfiltered and honest review/opinion on their game. Probably one of the better jumpscares I've had during a livestream lol. Game crashed 5 times trying to play. Also, way too loud … pass..
At Death's Door is the perfect game for anyone looking for unexpected jump scares, deep-thought puzzles, interesting story lines, and twists. This was my first game in an asylum setting, and it brought a really unique, new perspective to horror games for me. Highly recommend for both well-versed horror game players and newbies!
I started "At Death's Door" not knowing what to expect. The game centers around a host of an ailing ghost hunting television show. In a last ditch effort to save his show he heads to St. Valentines hospital for the criminally insane after receiving a tip from a friend. The paranormal activity picks up moments after arriving and checking on your gear. What ensues is a harrowing decent into the patients past and becoming very personal with their ailments and crimes. As you learn more and more a sense of dread develops as you creep around the dilapidated grounds. I jumped out of my skin on multiple occasions, and I recommend those who are curious and enjoy horror should give it a try. The game has a very personal touch to it, and I often thought of what went into their process as the developers made it. Speaking of which, if any of the developers happens to read this, some people who watched me stream this and myself had some questions about a few plot points. I would love the opportunity to have a brief discussion if you are willing. I had a good time with this game!
I'm a horror game newbie, but this game was a good start to get my feet wet in the genre! As someone whose big on story-telling, I liked the snippets of context and the way it layers the plot in naturally with the game-play. The atmosphere also helped immerse me into the world and the sound design is superb in creating dread. The game does a good job of building and retaining tension throughout, so even as you're just exploring, you feel that anxiety. It offers a lot of immersion and story, so would definitely recommend for other horror newbies!
This game was mad fun, had me screaming when things just come at you out of no where. The atmosphere is great, love the notes and the voice recordings. Really made me feel creeped out to explored. Would highly recommend as a horror game enthusiast!!
