Breeding prototype - A brand-new feature has arrived, breeding is now available! Choose your mare and stallion to create unique foals that inherit genetic traits from both parents. The genetics system closely mirrors real life, blending breed characteristics, body and head shape, and color genetics to produce one-of-a-kind offspring.
Watch your foals grow day by day as they mature into adult horses you can ride, train, and continue to breed. Build your own lineage and develop a pedigree of exceptional horses over generations.
Horse customization - The Astride Horse Creator offers an array of horse genetic options for you to discover. Select different breeds, heights, head shapes, mane, tail, and forelock styles, base coat colors, face and leg markings, multiple white patterns and different genetics, such as tobiano, splash, cream, grey, silver, and more to customize your horse's appearance. Observe how the various genes influence the outcome of your horse's coat and bring your dream horse to life!
Multiplayer - Whether you prefer playing with friends or riding out alone, Astride offers a multiplayer feature. Explore the environment with your friends or complete strangers. You have the flexibility to host private servers with passcodes for intimate gatherings or join public servers to meet fellow players from around the world.
Show jumping prototype - The initial iteration of the show jumping system is now available for testing. Observe how strides impact the horse's jumping capabilities and master the art of creating the ideal lineup for jumping. Select between a variation of training courses and timed courses and compete against your friends for the best time scores! Try out the cross country jumps placed around the country-side and challenge yourself in rough terrain! Stay tuned for additional updates to the jumping prototype in the near future.
Dressage prototype - The dressage prototype is now available in Astride. Choose between a few different dressage tests and gain scores based on how well you can stick to the program. Follow the path and switch gaits at the perfect moment. Perform movements such as canter pirouette, passage, and piaffe! Dressage is still in development and will keep getting updates over time.

I was really hoping for this game to be better than its reputation, but oh boy was I disappointed. The game has been in development for many years, and managed to make a good first impression with its marketed graphics when it first came out on early access. What happened since then? Not much. If they added things to the game (I’m guessing they did, and it’s the wrong priority in its current state) it’s easy to miss because of the clunky controls, distractingly stiff animations, neglected UI and lack of engagement in gameplay. I have never felt the need to refund a game before. This took the price after about 20 minutes of playtime and I got my refund. I’m sad to say it’s games like this that make publishers and investors not trust developers behind horse games.
There isn't anything to do apart from taking a walk in the map and creating nice coats... in two years. Yes it's early access but come on.. you can do better than that. I'm so heavily disappointed.. I had so much hope in this game and defended it for a while. Now I'm just eh about it. I doubt it will ever be finished honestly. So sad

I got this game when it first launched and was very disappointed. I am not sure you can even call it a game, there's nothing to do except make a horse (which at the time of launch was very limited in terms of customization) and ride around in a clunky map. At the time they didn't even have a player model, and I was riding through some ground objects instead of above them. I decided to put it away until they had more time to develop it and hopefully it would be better. So I waited a couple of years to check it out again. Unfortunately, still disappinted. While there are more customization options for the horse and there is a player model riding it now, and the map has seen some improvements, it still feels clunky and there's not really anything to do other than ride the horse around the map, which still needs improvements (I went into some water and instead of swimming my horse was walking underneath the water). I get that it's an indie game and I'm not expencting this to be the best horse game ever, but after all this time, and for it to be listed at the price it's at for it not even to really feel like a game... it just doesn't feel like it's worth it. I hope the developers can make it a full functioning game in the future but I don't think I'll be revisiting it.
At the moment, the game is extremely undeveloped and buggy, which is a given due to its early stages. However, I must note that I have seen little to no improvements over the course of about ten months, which was the time where I acquired the game. If you compare the actual product to the promises that were made in social media, you would see inconsistencies with the result that is to be expected from this game. I remember passing by a video in 2021 of the animations that were allegedly being produced and thinking, "Wow, this game looks promising already." Upon release, I found that those animations were nowhere to be seen, and the models look different from what was promised as well. Overall, I find that the game is extremely lackluster and underwhelming, and would not recommend it to anyone who values their time and money.
I think its actually fun, even though it's pretty limited. I recommend this game to those who just love a good RP or public servers involving horses. I DONT recommend this game to someone looking for a long-term horse game(quests are limited ATM). This game does have a few bugs but its not bad enough to ruin the whole game. I believe they are doing a nice job and they do regularly come out with updates and dev logs!
I got the game via Patreon, so some of the hours played are from the initial release and exploring / getting back on after updates. I've left the game for probably about 2 years because I was on a non-gaming laptop anyway, but I've finally bought myself a PC, and am able to play more games! Which means I got to see how far Astride has come, and... I cannot in good conscious recommend it in this state. In fact, I don't even think this 'game' should be available for purchase. Unfortunately, Astride is nowhere near ready for Early Access. 1) The world's graphics are pretty, but it's incredibly empty. 2) The horses are very lifeless and stiff. Aside from the fact that they don't yet have idle animations, the gaits and things they can do don't feel natural. Jumping is especially a good example, as the horse slows down and almost jumps in slow-motion (it's very clear that the animation changes from cantering to jumping), so it's not fluid at all. At least it seems like they added some weight to the horses, because in the initial release the horse felt like it was gliding over the ground. 3) The character, when on the ground, has some problems with stuttering while she is walking / jogging. It's not PC related; it's only the character that does this. 4) There is a stable where you can buy and breed horses, but buying only allows you to choose the gender and it basically generates a random horse. So if you want a specific breed or even colour, you'd have to sell and buy until you have one you like. Breeding is realistic (regarding the colour genetics), but not interactive. 5) Activities appear to be some jumping and dressage courses. I did one jumping course, so not sure what happens with more progress or if it's just course after course after course. I think if you can play with very imaginative roleplaying (i.e. imagine this horse is tied to the fence and I'm saddling it), you could get a short while of fun, but that's being generous. Honestly, this can't really be called a game - not even an EA game. It's a decorated box with some mechanics. That's it.
Coming from someone who has had the early access for about a year. PLEASE focus on the gameplay. Focusing only adding different breeds to the game will be your downfall as it has been with games like Star Stable. Of course you can add them later, but when making a game the GAMEPLAY should be the main focus, not the cosmetics. I do want to see this game succeed but the state that it is right now is not looking to good.
Horrible and too much $ for how in progress this is. This = trash!! Unbridled that horse game rip off if you'd ask me!!! Im sure alot of people agree with me on that too; wish i didn't pay money on it. Luckily i got a refund just in time for the steam horse fest to end. Would i recommend? NO!
dont get this game!! charging an unholy amount for a demo which looks like a 2018 simulator with very boring decals and the most basic atmosphere ever. ive played this game for 3 hours trying to get it to load when it didnt, just a reminder i can run red dead redemption 2 at full quality, so no this is NOT my pc. This game shouldnt even be out of testing yet, such a high price for a game that should be free.
There's nothing to do. Literally nothing. Coat creation is limited, and even then, you only get to create your starter horse. Wanna buy an another? Press one button, no need to earn any currency, do any quests, no, just come up to the bulletin board (?) in a half-assed stable, choose "buy horse" option, and select the sex. That's it. Can't choose breed, height, or the exterior.... The horse you get can already do everything. Piaffe? Just hold two buttons simultaneously. Jump 150 without the horse ever been ridden before? Easy. No need for growth or any ingagement at all. The show jumping is pretty weird ingame, but that's fine. You'd usually have to press space along with the correct striding, but just striding and a correct angle is needed here. Feels underdone for some reason, and I got the feeling the focus is put on dressage. Which is why I'm gonna complain about it. The gaits are really good. Compared to St*r St*ble? God-like, even. The switching between them? Buggy, even if you use numerals for faster change, like the game recommends, instead of using key combos. It can take up to two whole seconds for the animations to change, sometimes even having to leave and rejoin because the horse keeps cantering in place, even after getting off of it. But instead of fixing bugs, optimising the game, adding new content, new quests, maybe even comps, we're getting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRIESIAN. WHY IS IT WHENEVER A HORSE GAME STARTS GETTING LOW ON MONEY THEY ADD A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRIESIAN. Do I want a Friesian? No. Do most players want a Friesian? No. Do YOU want a Friesian? If you're into inbred, criminally overrated basic-♥♥♥♥♥ horses which are not even THAT (or any at all) good at the dressage, 70% owners of whom make them do? Maybe. That was one hell of a sentence. YOU WILL PAY FOR SLOP AND YOU WILL LIKE IT
