About
"The Earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever."
- Konstantin Tsiolkovsky
Asteroid Colony is a real time strategy city builder and economy simulation game set in the future of mankind. Help humanity leave its cradle and establish a colony in the far away asteroid belt, outside the orbit of Mars.
It is up to you whether humanity can reach its centuries old goal of reaching for the stars, or whether the early attempts of space exploration will end in disaster.
Settle your first asteroid and start building a city with hundreds of inhabitants. Satisfy your peoples demands for water, food, electricity, and many other resources by building a robust economy that can withstand the harsh conditions of space.
Space is a resource-poor and dangerous place, with many meteors and comets on collision course with your settlement. If you don’t want your settlement to end in a giant fireball, you will need to find technologies to keep your residents alive and well. Build telescopes to find and track dangerous space rocks, and launch specialized rockets to deflect their trajectory enough to hopefully prevent them from colliding with your colony.
Mine cold and icy comets for organic compounds and the most precious resources there is: water. If your people are content with your management, they will level up and provide you with new technologies and buildings, but they will also increase their demands. Launch new spaceships and expand your colony to further asteroids, gaining access to new and valuable resources, which will help you satisfying the ever-increasing energy needs of your people and economy.
Make sure to get access to natural resources before your opponents do. Even then, you should always be prepared for an attack on you. In the worst case, you will have to fight for the survival of your people. Use your industrial power to outproduce all other players and to gain the military superiority.
The ultimate goal of your colony in the Asteroid Belt is to help humanity reach beyond the solar system. To complete this daring undertaking, you will construct a giant spacecraft, which will take your people all the way to Alpha Centauri.

I just started this game and I really like it already. For an early access game released a week ago everything already seems to work too! For $6 this is a fun little asteroid mining game, and for that kind of price even the graphics are great! I've only gotten to about 60 settlers so far since I just started, but I've got materials, food, water, and electricity going and just growing in size now to unlock more buildings and such. It is EA. I know there's a lot more to discover and a ton coming in development since it's EA, but if the colony building/mining style are your thing and the game looks interesting to you I think it's probably already worth the $6, and it really just came out in EA so presumably there's a lot more to come. Right now it is only single player in case that matters to you. BUT, one of the things you select for a new game is game mode - single player, so it seems pretty clear that multiplayer is coming at some point.
Fun to play. Needs polish. Crashes a lot. Needs a game cyclopedia to explain how some of the buildings work. At a certain point my water cleaning buildings stopped working and I couldn't figure out why. Suggestion, a water processing building that extracts water from rocks during the mining process. Would love to see the ability later to build a centrifugal habitat into the asteroid for artificial gravity. A gym can only do so much to mitigate low to micro-gravity.
Lovely game. thought its early in development and relatively simple, it can keep you entertained for a good while. Although, it could use some optimisation as it runs a bit slow on lower end computers
Very fun played for hours and not bored worth the $8. I like shooting my enemies with the railgun frigate. I'm making nuclear reactors on a different asteroid currently and I've got hit by a couple of meteors. Very nice mining and building game.
