Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered is a simple and enjoyable game that will mostly appeal to Asterix fans and people who played the original. You travel through different locations, switch between Asterix and Obelix, collect items, and constantly send groups of Romans flying. The combat is fun at first, but it starts to feel repetitive after a while. There are plenty of enemies, although most of them are defeated in roughly the same way. The platforming sections and camera can also feel outdated, and the controls are sometimes a little awkward. The graphics were noticeably improved in the remaster, but the age of the original game can still be seen in the animations and level design. The option to switch back to the old graphics is a nice feature for anyone looking for some nostalgia. Overall, it’s a decent game for a few evenings. There’s nothing outstanding about it, but it captures the atmosphere of the cartoons and comics well, and beating up crowds of Romans is still fun. It’s best bought on sale, especially if you haven’t played the original.

Отличный ремастер старого весёлого бит эм апа из детства, сохранивший почти все аспекты оригинала (пусть и некоторые неудачные тоже), сумевший в недурной компромисс в визуальный и аудио стиль с возможностью переключать визуал и аудио между новым и старым в любой момент игры. Редкими неплохими отсебятинами (избить Красноборода на каждой карте игры) и всё тем же весёлым динамичным избиением римлян по всей их империи. С простой, но прикольной при прокачке боевой системой, разнообразными локациями и игровыми ситуациями, плюс проходится быстро и сильно надоесть не успевает. Разве что камера неудобна и в платформенных секциях может раздражать, но недостаток сохранился с оригинала.
