"Asian Riddles" is a basic Nonogram game... for those who never played one, it's a kind of grid-deduction-puzzle game, not unlike Minecraft or Sudoku. You're given a grid and a number of numerical clues. You must deduce where the safe places to click are. In a Nonogram, the correct clicks will reveal a small, obviously low resolution image or pattern. Yay, what fun. This is why top of the line gaming PCs costs thousands of dollars, right? The developer, Creobit, has copy + pasted this game an insane FOURTY ONE TIMES... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of the asset flips of this game that the Russian "developer" is polluting Steam with:

Asian Riddles 1, 2, 3 + 4
Christmas Griddlers
Christmas Griddlers Journey to Santa
Detective Riddles - Sherlock's Heritage 1 + 2
Easter Riddles
Egypt Picross Pharaohs Riddles
Fill And Cross Christmas Riddles
Fill and Cross Magic Journey
Fill and Cross Pirate Riddles 1, 2 + 3
Fill and Cross Royal Riddles
Fill and Cross Trick or Treat 1, 2 + 3
Fill and Cross World Contest
Griddlers Beach Season
Griddlers Legend Of The Pirates
Griddlers TED and PET 1 + 2 (this game)
Griddlers Victorian Picnic
Halloween Patchwork Trick or Treat
Halloween Riddles Mysterious Griddlers
Magic Griddlers 1 + 2
Olympus Griddlers
Picross Beach Paradise
Picross Bonbon - Nonogram
Picross Fairytale - nonogram: Red Riding Hood secret
Picross Fairytale: Legend of the Mermaid
Picross Hansel and Gretel - Nonograms
Riddle of the mask
Royal Riddles
Santa's Toy Factory Nonograms
Thanksgiving Day Griddlers
Valentine's Day Griddlers 1 + 2
These are all reskins of exactly the same game! From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio (with crappy "wings" to pad out the space). It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. "Asian Riddles" has the gamer gouging price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
You should NEVER have to guess or use hints to solve picross puzzles. Ever. And yet, as early as the first room (collection of levels), you end up having to guess what the remainder of the picture is supposed to look like as there are multiple possible answers based on remaining numbers. I like the music and artwork, but nothing's more frustrating than working on a puzzle for a while, then you get hit with a mistake because you have to guess on 2 of the last numbers.
I enjoy these types of games. But, I have an issue with this game. Too many times, I am at the end of a puzzle with a 2x2 empty space grid, and both rows and columns have a marker left. Based on the numbers, both solutions are viable (top left/bottom right or top right/bottom left). If you can identify the image, then you may be able to guess the correct placement. But, if you cannot identify the image, then you are flipping a coin over what the game says is the correct spot. If you guess correctly, you get 3 stars. If you guess incorrectly, then you only get 2 stars, and you have to repeat the entire puzzle again for the 3rd star, while remembering which spots are the correct spots. Many of this game's levels feel like someone drew the picture, counted the spaces, and never had someone else test them to make sure that the points didn't lead to the above scenario. If you like these games, try some of the other 8Floor games. But this one can be skipped.

Puzzle
It's not a logic puzzle if guesswork is required.
Asian Riddles, developed by Creobit and published by 8floor, is a logic puzzle title centered on the nonogram formula, offering a calm and methodical experience built around deduction and pattern recognition. It represents a straightforward interpretation of the genre, focusing on delivering a large collection of puzzles with consistent rules rather than introducing experimental mechanics or narrative depth. The result is a game that feels focused and reliable, though also somewhat limited in scope. The gameplay revolves around solving grid-based puzzles using numerical hints placed along rows and columns. These clues indicate how many consecutive squares should be filled, and players must interpret them carefully to reconstruct a hidden image. The challenge lies in applying logical reasoning to determine the correct placement of each tile, as guessing is rarely effective and often counterproductive. This creates a satisfying process of elimination, where each correct decision leads naturally to the next, reinforcing a steady sense of progress. Progression is organized into a sequence of levels that gradually increase in complexity. Early puzzles are small and forgiving, designed to introduce the mechanics and build confidence. As players advance, the grids become larger and more intricate, requiring greater attention and more advanced strategies. This steady escalation ensures that the game remains engaging without becoming overwhelming, allowing players to develop their skills at a comfortable pace. Completing a puzzle provides a clear sense of accomplishment, especially as the hidden image is revealed piece by piece. The visual presentation is simple but effective. The game uses clean layouts and soft colors, with backgrounds and completed images inspired by Asian themes. While the artwork is not highly detailed, it serves its purpose well, providing visual rewards that complement the gameplay. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate between puzzles and manage inputs without distraction. This clarity is important in a game where focus and precision are key. Sound design is understated, featuring gentle background music that enhances the relaxed atmosphere. The audio does not draw attention to itself, instead supporting the meditative quality of the gameplay. This creates an environment where players can concentrate fully on solving puzzles, making it well-suited for quiet, uninterrupted play sessions. One of the game’s strongest qualities is its accessibility. The rules are easy to understand, and the absence of time limits allows players to approach each puzzle at their own pace. This makes it appealing to a wide audience, from newcomers to experienced puzzle enthusiasts. The gradual increase in difficulty helps maintain engagement, ensuring that players are neither bored nor overwhelmed as they progress. However, the game’s reliance on a single core mechanic also highlights its main limitation. While the puzzles become more complex, the underlying gameplay does not change significantly. There are no additional modes or variations introduced to diversify the experience, which can make longer sessions feel repetitive. The enjoyment of the game depends largely on the player’s appreciation for nonograms, as it does not offer much beyond that central concept. The pacing works well for short sessions, allowing players to complete a few puzzles at a time without fatigue. At the same time, the large number of levels provides a sense of longevity, even if the experience remains consistent throughout. This balance makes it a suitable choice for casual play, where players can return to it periodically rather than engaging in extended sessions. Ultimately, Asian Riddles delivers a focused and dependable puzzle experience that stays true to its genre. It does not attempt to innovate or expand beyond its established formula, but it provides a polished and consistent collection of challenges that are both relaxing and engaging. Its strengths lie in its clarity, accessibility, and steady progression, while its weaknesses stem from a lack of variety and evolution. In the end, it stands as a solid example of nonogram design, offering a satisfying experience for players who enjoy logical problem-solving and structured puzzles. While it may not leave a strong lasting impression due to its simplicity, it remains an enjoyable and reliable option within its niche. Rating: 6/10
Plusieurs grilles à solutions multiples ou avancement au hasard. On passe un agréable moment mais trop facile.
Asian-themed grid game. Kind-of halfway between minesweeper and sudoku. Decent.
