It's like vr celeste expect just movement no story
Top Tier VR with Huge Replay-ability I purchased this game after being a Beta Tester for the game. It is Polished. I have never experienced a VR game like this. Platformers are a category I enjoy but then you add VR and you open the door to wonders. This is game is polished and refined. A must have for a VR enthusiast.
THIS is exactly what I've been looking for in VR! I would've thought precision platforming would be an overused VR trend by now, but it's surprising how hard it is to find a good platforming VR game like this one! I downloaded the demo for Arcsine on a whim this weekend and by the time I got through the tutorial, I was having so much fun. I've got some coworkers who I convinced to buy a VR headset, I will definitely be recommending Arcsine to them. There are so many levels to play and mechanics to master, and it's just plain fun. I really hope this game gets the attention it deserves, because this is one of those games that gets you to put your headset on after weeks of not playing anything on it. It's almost got a CSGO Surf kind of feel to it, and that's the kind of platforming/parkour vibe I've been wanting from VR for a long time. Hope to see more from Prop Logic in the future!
I have played the demo for a few hours, going through the tutorial and the first couple missions. I love the premise of the game, it is a large 3D platform jumping and gliding game. It feels like being a superhero flying around the platforms. The tutorial starts off very, very easy and explains the game one piece at a time. I have also had my 12 year old nephew play through the tutorial and while it was more challenging for him than it was for me, he made it through the entire thing with minimal coaching/supervision/guidance. I have not progressed very far into the challenging levels yet, but based on what I have seen on youtube, this game eventually becomes very challenging. I like that it starts off a little too easy to get all ages up to speed and then you are able to keep progressing onto harder and harder puzzles that might take some time to think through and some practice to be able to pull off the required movements and button timing. One other consideration I want to touch on is that while I get motion sickness in most VR games because I do not play them that often, for the amount of movement that happens in this game, I did not feel motion sick until I spent over an hour straight in the game and it was much less than I have gotten from other games. I talked with the developer of the game and he states that he spent a lot of time and effort to reduce the motion sickness in this game. I think this is probably the best game on the market to work on improving your "VR legs" to get your brain used to movement in VR. I think this is a must have game for all VR headsets and a great game to show off VR to your friends who may not have played any VR title before because the tutorial is so well designed and communicated to new players.
Hey everyone, So, I've been hanging out in the world of ArcSine since it’s early days of development. Being a beta tester and seeing all the behind-the-scenes action has been wild, and lemme tell you, this game has come a LONG way. First off, the gameplay is just fun. It started off pretty great, but now? It's like they took our feedback, threw in some magic, and bam – we've got something that's a blast to play. The controls are smooth, the levels are a mix of challenging and entertaining, and there's always something new to discover. One thing that's really made this journey special is the community and the devs. It feels like we're all in this together, shaping ArcSine into the game we all want it to be. Shoutout to the devs for actually listening to us! If you're sitting there, wondering if this game is for you – just give it a go. It's not just about the gameplay; it's about being part of something that's growing and getting better every day. Plus, you're not gonna want to miss out on the fun. Looking back, it's been awesome to see ArcSine evolve from its early days to now. It's more than just a game to me; it's a journey I've been proud to be part of. Can't wait to see where it goes next!
if you like me and enjoy first person puzzle platforming in VR you will probably like this game a lot
Brilliant platformer with great level design, soundtrack, and polish you just don't see in VR titles. Played through during the closed beta and it's only gotten better. I highly recommend this purchase.
A standout VR experience so far, which manages to truly leverage VR to elevate the puzzle platforming experience. I would have a much higher hours played count if I hadn't had to go out of town away from my VR system almost immediately after buying it. I'm playing on a Vive with the wireless headset. I ignored the dev warnings about the increased difficulty and am playing with slingshot + gesture controls. I like playing VR for the physicality of it so these were natural choices for me. I'm told I may really suffer for it by some of the later levels... excited to see how that pans out. I anticipate that for however painful it gets, it will also increase the sense of reward when I beat a level so I say bring it on (will update this review when I get farther to see if I still feel this way). So far the slingshot/gesture combo is challenging but thrilling. It takes a bit to get used to but feels deeply intuitive once you do. Just as long as you heed the developer warning to lower your hands immediately after slingshotting so as to not immediately start drifting in a direction you didn't mean to. Besides for the amazing gameplay, the aesthetics are exquisite as well, creating a relaxing vibe that helps to keep you from getting frustrated when you fail (which you will, a lot). The soundtrack especially is perfect. It has a lot of richness and depth but also has that quality of good ambient music where it is easily ignorable and never distracts you during a challenging moment where you really need to focus.
Only a few levels into the game so far but it's a really interesting VR platformer. The shooting/dashing and gliding mechanic works well and combined with the relatively clean/clutterless level design makes the experience soothing instead of slightly off putting. I think my brain is like "okay everything looks like Tron so we must be in VR." The tutorial is excellent and so far I haven't encountered anything where I felt like I didn't know what I was supposed to do. The difficulty appears to be slowly ramping up over time but so far it's very approachable. I do wish there was some sort of frame/story around the whole experience but that's clearly just not something that's part of this game. Recommended!
While challenging, this game is a heck of a lot of fun. I have even played it on a Katwalk C2+ which adds to the difficulty, but makes for a great workout. Highly recommend and will keep you coming back for more.
