Araka~JK Exorcist Horror RPG is a supernatural horror adventure developed by I'm moralist and published by BokiBoki Games and BokiBoki Game. Built around exploration, mystery, and psychological tension, the game places players in the role of a novice psychic gifted with telepathic abilities who is tasked with locating the missing exorcist Araka after she vanishes inside a cursed parallel world. Rather than focusing on intense combat, the experience emphasizes uncovering secrets, surviving terrifying encounters, and piecing together an emotional story hidden beneath layers of supernatural horror. Its premise immediately captures attention by presenting a rescue mission where every discovery reveals just how dangerous the alternate dimension truly is. The narrative serves as the game's greatest strength. Araka is not portrayed as a helpless victim but as a determined young exorcist who willingly entered an environment so perilous that even seasoned specialists would hesitate to confront it. As players investigate her disappearance, they gradually learn about her unwavering resolve, the sacrifices she made, and the dark forces that stand in her way. This approach transforms the adventure from a simple search mission into a heartfelt tale of perseverance, courage, and hope. The mystery unfolds at a satisfying pace, rewarding careful exploration with story revelations that continually raise both the emotional and supernatural stakes. Gameplay centers on exploration and investigation, encouraging players to search every area for clues, interact with objects, and solve environmental obstacles that unlock new paths. Instead of relying on complex mechanics or fast-paced action, the game maintains a straightforward structure that allows its atmosphere and storytelling to remain the primary focus. The gradual progression through eerie locations keeps players engaged as each new environment introduces fresh mysteries and unsettling discoveries. Fans of classic RPG-style horror adventures will likely appreciate the familiar design philosophy, which favors curiosity and careful observation over combat-heavy gameplay. The horror itself leans heavily into psychological suspense rather than constant jump scares. Creepy environments, disturbing imagery, and an ever-present feeling of vulnerability create a persistent sense of dread throughout the journey. Knowing that the protagonist is inexperienced compared to the powerful supernatural threats heightens the tension, making exploration feel genuinely risky. Every abandoned corridor, strange encounter, and unexplained phenomenon contributes to an atmosphere that remains consistently unsettling without depending solely on sudden shocks. Visually, the game embraces a retro-inspired pixel art presentation while using expressive character portraits and event illustrations to enhance important story moments. The environments effectively convey loneliness and supernatural corruption, while lighting and visual effects help establish an oppressive mood. Audio design further strengthens immersion through eerie background music, ambient sound effects, and Japanese voice performances during major scenes. The voice acting adds emotional weight to Araka's character and helps important narrative sequences leave a stronger impression, making the story feel more personal despite the game's modest production values. Another welcome feature is the inclusion of options that make the experience more accessible to players with different comfort levels regarding horror content. Those primarily interested in the narrative can continue progressing even if certain frightening scenes become overwhelming. This thoughtful addition broadens the game's appeal without significantly reducing the tension that defines its identity. Although the overall experience is compelling, it does have limitations. Players seeking deep RPG mechanics, extensive character customization, or action-oriented combat may find the gameplay somewhat simple. The relatively short runtime means the adventure concludes before many of its systems evolve significantly, and some sections of exploration can occasionally feel repetitive. However, these shortcomings are largely outweighed by the engaging storyline, memorable atmosphere, and consistent focus on building suspense. Araka~JK Exorcist Horror RPG succeeds because it understands that effective horror depends as much on emotional investment as frightening imagery. By combining supernatural mystery, psychological tension, exploration-based gameplay, and a sympathetic central character, it delivers an experience that remains engaging from beginning to end. While its mature themes and slower pacing may not appeal to every player, those looking for a story-driven horror RPG with a strong emotional core will find plenty to appreciate. The game stands as a solid example of how independent developers can craft an immersive and memorable horror adventure through compelling storytelling and atmosphere rather than spectacle alone. Rating: 7/10
i dont know what the f im playing bro this is the most disappointed H game i play
难得碰到这么戳我XP的作品,虽然贵了点但我个人觉得很爽
Turns out, getting a DLSite award means nothing. I'm very disappointed. The VA hard-carries this game, but it's still not enough to be worth this price. The art style is inconsistent, there are many scenes but they consist of a static image with a few variations. You do have the option to unlock all scenes, so that's good at least. The male protagonist has a supernatural ability to see other people's memories by touching things. (very creative, I know) And he goes in search of his girlfriend, Araka, an exorcist who went missing. He uses his power to figure out what happened and how to save her. To give you an idea, the first memory you unlock is of a girl stuck in a vending machine. A monster approaches her from behind and rips off her panties. She, in her infinite wisdom, decides she shouldn't scream, because she doesn't want to reveal the fact that she's a girl. Then the game spends 69 paragraphs explaining why that's a bad thing. As I was clicking through this, all I was thinking was "you know the monster can see your p*ssy, right?" This should give you an idea of the the writing quality you can expect from this game. On top of that, you can get a game over just by investigating something.
I only played this game for 7 min and the game gave me 4 error codes in that time. English is unfortunately a no go.
