A beautiful aquapark tycoon game that captures the charm and clever gameplay of the classic RollerCoaster Tycoon games. It strikes a fantastic balance between cozy creativity and rewarding management challenges. (I played the Demo already 8h) Pros * Great for players who enjoy building beautiful water parks. * Offers plenty of challenges for people who love thoughtful management mechanics. * Cozy and charming art style. * Lots of variety and attention to detail, with many different pools, slides, spas, saunas, and more. * Super fair price for the gameplay value you get! Cons * In Challenge Mode, it feels like you need to focus heavily on increasing your prestige level in order to win. * A few minor, insignificant bugs. @Devs: Please keep working on this game! It has a lot of potential and is already a ton of fun.
Overall I like this game a lot. It has very good control and aesthetics, while offering lots of variety and management options. However, in my opinion it is missing a very significant park management feature. That is, the ability to limit guests number per pool. Without it, any pool can become overcrowded , looking as if there is hardly any space among the swimmers, and often they collide with each other. I hope this feature will be implemented in future updates.
What a game, it really pulls you into itself, one of the best tycoons/simulators i've played in a while. Reminds of Rollercoaster tycoon, but in the best way possible. The price tag is kinda steep for what it currently is, i'm hoping it's gonna fill up with content and fixes on release - currently it's 10$~ worth of fun and would not recommend the game for the price in it's current state. Feedback for the devs: 1] When you select a pool and an object (like wood on the ground), hotkeys react to both - clicking delete deletes the object, but also prompts to delete the pool. 2] Currently I'm going for expert scenarios, in all of the other scenarios I had a few issues - Everyone was constantly thirsty and hungry, even after placing tens of stalls, the ai either doesn't tend to it's needs or the stall mechanics work a way i didn't yet discover (which is not the greatest design, not knowing how food mechanics work after playing all the non expert scenarios) - I had to figure out how to clean dirty pools - setting strong chlorine water and water purifiers didn't work at all, i had to refurbish the pool, but somehow I either missed the guide or the game presumed that I would search for it through it's UI. - Similar issue with stuff breaking down, I had to figure out that attractions have a status which determines the probability of it breaking down and the need to refurbish such attractions when the status is low. Not a mention from the guide about this either. - Janitors are weird, 10 janitors in one scenario can be completely enough for 500 guests, and in another scenario 10 janitors can't keep up with trash, with the same amount of guests. - If you set your camera to look horizontally, moving the users view is extremely sped up and hard to navigate EDIT: - what's way worse than food is exhaustion, the guests never tend to their energy, keeping themselves exhausted all the time even after having a million free relaxing spots nearby. They complain and lower the rating because of that, all the time, for no reason at all... - The player is able to open up tons of UI windows very easily, making it super hard to navigate through and feels overwhelming, mostly happens when adding staff, or browsing through park functions, it gets overwhelming pretty fast - The View function is really cool and works really well, problem is with the UI window, currently its a bit confusing that the window hides and opens itself on cursor hover, but only partially - Repaying a loan is hard to figure out, It's user unfriendly, it should definitely be more intuitive - Figured out why sometimes janitors don't work = they get stuck! Especially when there's a lot of people around, around a 1000 guests its very, very often that staff gets stuck and stops working, picking them up and placing them again fixes them for a while, but it's really a bother and feels like i can't possibly run a big park like that, checking on my staff all the time if they're not stuck. Happens primarily on the inside areas. - Taking a loan is not punishing at all, every scenario i just took the biggest loan and let it be, every scenario was basically a sandbox doing the same stuff over - Now this is the biggest issue for me so far: 3] The progression is very fast - too fast, I know that essentially this is a sandbox, but the scenarios are very quick but for the wrong reasons. I figured out that for increasing visitors I just need to build more pools and keep a stable positive rating, which is achieveable very easily - just pop down a template pool randomly, stalls, seats and a janitor. I would suggest removing buildable templates from scenarios, that would make people actually discover a lot of content and have fun with all the cool stuff and customizations you have in the game. Also making players focus on decorations, actually building slides, thinking about the layout, and just making it not about placing template pools and janitors to complete the scenarios would make it feel really, really cool - Guests actually reacting to layout, reacting to missing decorations, missing paths (currently there is no reason whatsoever to use landscaping at all, besides flattening the ground) or coming way less when you don't have slides (built slides by hand, not a template placed in 2 seconds) or other fun stuff would completely refurbish my experience. EDIT: The Expert scenarios are challenging, you have to utilize your game knowledge and be a little creative, those are great. More different (in a creative sense) scenarios like that would be absolutely fire! Also good to mention - when I want to for example increase the fun score of a pool, the game allows me to just put 4 floaties of the same type into the pool and each floatie counts as a special fun decoration, I don't know about you, but If i saw a pool with 4 same floaties and a pool with a slide, floatie, monkey bars and an island, I would say the more fun pool is the second one. I'm not a min-maxer, but scenarios should be achieved and completed through fun effort and understanding the game, not through placing a few pool templates, it makes the game feel empty when you're able to do such a thing in a supposedly challenging scenario mode. 4] As for content, definitely more options to cast shadows - more types of trees, rocks and greenery. More types of textures for terrain. The guests look all the same. There is not a thief or vandalism mechanic, even though there are secure shelves. The stuff I can put into pools is lacking a lot, variety would be nice. Some stuff you see in aquaparks that are not necesarilly water related, like table tennis, beach volleyball or tennis would be super cool. You got a great game though, I'm super exited to see where you'll go with this!
Can't really recommend the game at this stage. I *love* sandbox building games like RCT, OpenTTD, Parkitect, and so on. I'm usually hooked on the creative and freeplay aspects, therefor I cannot speak about scenarios and stuff. My biggest complaint about the game is, that for a game about building stuff, the building system is HORRIBLE. A few examples: - Why is there a "indoor" building tool, that places ugly walls with random objects, 3 million windows, doors and useless objects automatically? Why can't I decide where I want windows? How can I paint those ugly walls? Make them taller/shorter? There is nothing to customize here. - Walls: Lots of z-fighting, because the wall tool is also horrible to use. Why not make a Sims-styled room building tool and make you paint the wall textures? Why can't I place doors and windows on those walls? It feels like a last-minute built in developer tool. - Objects: Why do I need to go to the objects tab when I want to decorate my freshly built pool, that stuff should be in the pool-building menu. Overall, the user experience is really *a* experience, but not a good one. It currently feels like the game is not rewarding my creativity, but activly blocking it. If you don't build your park the way the devs intended to, you are not going to have a fun time. Also, the game is way too expensive for what it currently offers. I'm changing my review when those issues are resolved.
I already have Planet coaster 2 and didn't want to spend $20 on another game like that, but I decided to do it anyway because I had it on my whishlist for a year. AND MAN, I played it for 3 hours with no break. It's so fun, there is so much unique content (Like saunas, seasons, indoors and outdoors pools...) and not only that but there is also SUCH a large amount of it, and it's all unique and fun. The simulation is fair and for the amount of content is not too complicated at all, it's relatively easy to learn. I only encountered a few very minor visual or gameplay bugs but they only made a small 5-second annoyance. Not to mention, the game launched for early access today, so it's not even finished. Gotta say, incredible work, very fun and needed game (There aren't many aqua park tycoons)
This game is long overdue, finally a very solid waterpark tycoon game. I tried that waterpark simulator game but was upset that I couldn't design my own slides. This is exactly what I've been looking for. The customization is great.
Top tier tycoon game, and FINALLY one that incorporates CO-OP and VERY VERY well. I find myself fiening for co op games like this which I can build with my partner and this is exactly that and at no expense spared with gameplay mechanics and quality. The game isn't just "build slide - make money - done" either, it has great aspects of customer needs such as luxury etc, it's a refreshing addition to this style of game. I'm bad at reviews but let me wrap it up with the fact that this game feels SUPER polished for early access, 100% needs to be played if you like park builders it's instantly up there with the best and I'm gagging to see what comes in the future this is gonna be an all time GOAT.
Early Access done right. Love it so far!
