Minimal underwater maze game about a kind-hearted anglerfish is weighed down by disorienting camera issues and some backtracking. In this game, you play as an anglerfish with an unusual dream: instead of lurking in the dark and devouring prey, he yearns for light and kindness. Your mission is to help him chase that dream by navigating through 30 maze-like stages. You select stages from a menu, completing them in order. Visually, the game doesn’t offer much excitement. Expect black walls and a single-toned background representing water. While the game spans four chapters with minor color changes, overall visual detail is sparse. Seaweed and grass dominate the environment, with occasional rocks and shadowy fish in the background. Each level is a maze where the goal is to find a key and reach the exit. If mazes aren't your thing, this game may test your patience—expect lots of dead ends and backtracking, especially with no map. Three optional stars per stage offer extra exploration incentive. There are also collectible shells, but their vague presence makes them easy to miss. They’re often hidden behind seaweed or objects, and there's no stage indicator for them. Completionists beware: missing one shell could mean combing through every stage again. Secret achievements add a bit more depth—like discovering a skeleton or earning a snazzy permanent tie for finding a hidden room. Each new chapter introduces a small mechanic. Chapter two adds currents you can’t swim against, while chapter three introduces threats that can kill you. Thankfully, you retain collected items like keys after death. However, the most frustrating addition may be switches. These not only open but also close paths, forcing you to remember their locations and constantly double back. The controls are minimal—just swimming and activating light switches—but camera positioning presents issues. Swimming to the right keeps the fish centered, but heading left pushes him toward the edge of the screen, making it hard to see incoming obstacles or threats. This often leads to unfair deaths. Add to that a slight delay in movement stopping, which makes precision swimming impossible, and you’ve got a recipe for frustration.

Which is fun! I will be completing this game 100%. Indeed i will. Can i also say that some design and art are made by his amazing Girlfriend. It's just simply beautiful. Amazing job. to the both of you. <3 gameplay: 8/10, I am not really into 2d games but this one is a solid 8, music: 10/10, gotta love retro music ! Diff: solid 7/10, lvl 19.. Clever games curator review: 6/10 Basically, a 2D maze with the occasional switch to open/close gates. It's quite claustrophobic, with a highly zoomed-in view, meaning that you often have no idea if you're heading in the right direction or not. Furthermore, because the textures/sprites are highly repetitive and minimalistic, it's very easy to get lost. Thus, any chance of success relies heavily on your memory for spatial layout. HOWEVER, I'm sure that there are people for whom this would be a satisfying or even fun challenge. But PERSONALLY, I find myself wandering around randomly significantly more than I consider to be enjoyable. If the presentation were a bit more flashy or varied, I think this wandering would be a bit more enjoyable, but really it comes down to not wanting to memorize that I passed two upward corridors and one downward before I get to the passageway with the locked gate (etc.). And that's the kind of memorization that is constant by the time you get to level 9 (the last one I finished before writing this review). Even if the game stuck with the spare and empty graphical style, it could at least do with a bit better pixel art and more thoughtful choices. For example, currently a gray pile of rubble is opened by a key! Also, the joystick code is not great and badly needs a little dead zone for left/right movement. In the end, I still recommend this, because for a first time dev this is a pretty good effort. However, it has a very limited audience.
AquaDream is a mesmerizing underwater puzzle-adventure that immerses you in the eerie depths of the ocean. Playing as an anglerfish, you explore intricate labyrinths, solving puzzles and uncovering hidden paths. The game’s minimalist visuals evoke a haunting yet serene atmosphere, making every new area feel like a discovery. One of the standout features is its intelligent puzzle design, which challenges players to think strategically while navigating currents, avoiding obstacles, and collecting rare shells. The sense of mystery is heightened by the game’s subtle environmental storytelling—the world feels alive, even without dialogue. AquaDream delivers a rewarding experience for those who appreciate atmospheric exploration and clever puzzle mechanics. Its combination of relaxation and challenge keeps players engaged, making it a hidden gem for puzzle lovers and adventurers alike. On a final note: It's FUN!
So clever and cozy! Wherever you can find collectable and great music, I'll be there!!! :D
This game was hard but fun I really liked the game's art style and music. Each location is beautifully designed. The music perfectly complements each setting, enhancing the atmosphere and making every area feel unique and memorable Overall I enjoyed the game
Beautiful art style and a fresh underwater theme that instantly hooked me. The puzzle design is smart and keeps you thinking without feeling overwhelming. Exploring the dark marine mazes as an anglerfish is both relaxing and mysterious. A charming and unique experience for puzzle lovers looking for something different.
🐟Bought with 77% discount, also for charity purpose 🐟A relaxing action and hidden items finding game
Chill game with cozy music and retro pixel art games vibe. Keeps your brain entertained as you make your way through a labyrinth as an anglerfish (its so cute) and get lost lol. But still fun and relaxing, cozy indie game are my favourite so this one is a love for me plus it's an easy achievements game with collectibles. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
