I was trying to figure out what this game is about. But only for few minutes and i appear on some island and nobody there, I came to some village and nobody there. So i siwthced off game...and nobody here ! I CAN NOT RECOMMEND TO MY FRIEND NOR MY GRANDMA.
Promising game, I hope the dev keeps adding new features and makes it even smoother.
Fun survival gameplay with a tense atmosphere and interesting exploration.
Baring In Mind Early Access, Can see the general idea and space to grow and evolve with this zombie survival. Plenty of exploring and looking around. Hopefully see more when the story comes into play.
What I said before about this being removed from early access early still feels right. ...buuut... I'm definitely changing my review. If you want to play a jankier version of The Forest, this is definitely a good option. I put my review as not recommended before because this game was rough, and in the span of two weeks: - You can eat/reload items - Putting items in your hotkeys from a chest works - I haven't crashed again - the head bob feature was in the options menu (this was my bad. I didn't see it in the options) - other reviews about zombies wrecking you immediately never made sense to me. I was always able to win fights against the horde stumbling up to me. - the options saved between plays. I closed and opened the game multiple times to test it. - this game doesn't say it's supported by Steam Deck. With that being said, on low settings it doesn't lag like it did before. - there's an option for fast collecting items from a chest This all changed in two weeks after the dev responded to my review and told me they would work on fixing issues. Sure, this game is a bit janky. It also has some quality features missing/rigged like not being able to sleep until you're low on energy even though it's so dark that you should just stand next to a bed, or you have to swing multiple times judging the distance at an object before hitting it. This is a $2 game I got for free and it has now exceeded expectations for a game I would've paid to get. Thanks for responding and listening to your consumers. -Below this is the original review- This game being removed from Early Access is a BIIIG mistake. I saw the previous complaints and thought maybe I'd check it out because it looks like a good terrible game, and it had to have been worked on to be released as a full game... I was wrong. It's just terrible. - I went into the tutorial, and during that I discovered the hit boxes are janky. Okay, that's understandable, some games thrive on jank. This isn't the fun jank though. - the bouncing step is absolutely terrible! You should have an option to turn it off. It gave me worse motion sickness than my Quest 3 does. - My Steam Deck couldn't render the graphics well; it lagged so badly that I turned it on low with no shadows and rendering of 1k distance. That fixed it, but I'm sure it could be better optimized. - I looted the chest in the tutorial house. First off, why make you have to drag loot out of a chest instead of just clicking on it? This bundled with the fact that the game time continues when you're in menus is astronomically bad. -Second for this experience of looting... I cannot eat ANYTHING. It instructs you to eat a banana by left clicking when it's in your toolbar. That definitely doesn't work. The first part of this individual problem is that I put it in my toolbar from the chest and it never showed up in my inventory. I had to go back to the chest, take it off my toolbar and put it into my regular inventory, then put it in my toolbar while not in the chest menu. Then it showed up. Cool, now it's in my hand, but I can't eat it. I even tried click on it in the menu. I know it was an absurd thought, but I wanted to eat the dang banana. I thought maybe it was just the banana, so after I cooked the meat, I tried that as well... NOPE! You just can't eat the food. - After this happened, I was fighting zombies, and something happened to the sound. There was a buzzing, and it just built onto itself in an infinitely louder loop until it was completely unbearable. I tried turning down the sound effects and the music to get rid of it, but it persisted, so I had to reset the game. It didn't happen again after that. The settings reset to default when you leave the game, so I had to redo all of them all over when I reset. - Why have ladders if you can't use them? This is worse than having houses you can't enter. - I found a crossbow with some arrows next to it. I thought maybe it would just let me use it. Nope. I couldn't figure out how to load them. It just dry fired. It could use bolts, but they all don't exist in the build menu so I have no clue. - Speaking of the build menu... why does a tent require metal? Also, why are the ingredients needed to build a sleeping bag a sleeping bag? I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get the necessary ingredients to build something to sleep in or on or whatever. - Also, why can't you build tools? I had to find all the tools by looting and eventually gave up because I needed pliers for metal sheets and couldn't find them even though I was in a junkyard with mutliple warehouses in it. I was literally surrounded by metal I couldn't use. I'm assuming almost everyone that played this game gave up during the tutorial because I got the good old trope of crash landing on a zombie island intro achievement for the beginning of the new game, and only 0.1% of players have achieved this. It was the same with killing one zombie in new game mode as well. That's rough, especially for a game that goes for free. I would suggest putting your game back in EA and addressing the issues before blindly full releasing a game you never fixed. The complaints from other reviews are still present and are some of my complaints as well. I feel like this is a problem indie developers face, realize they can't fix due to time, money, or skill, then full release and abandon the game since "it's done". I guess we'll see if this is the case.
Optimization sucks. I have a 3060 and a ryzen 5 5600 and my game is at 70fps. I changed the graphics but nothing changed at all. Bruh. But this game has potention anyway, I can see it. Maybe if the interface were similar to famous zombie games like DayZ or Dying Light, it would be a much better game. The game's story is bad too.
Eu particularmente gostei bastante do jogo.
