NB i backed this on Kickstarter, Orphic's one and only hit as far as I know. Retro engrossing old school 8-16Bit feel. An isometric easy to pick up RPG, low system impact, nice colour graphics if not spectacular. Easy inventory management and will run on a brick. However do NOT expect graphics sophistication here, it looks like a cross between something Spiderweb Software makes and the Ultima series, but isometric: The graphics have a charming Windows 3.1 feel about them, so don't expect anything groundbreaking like Neverwinter Nights. Yes, it is April 2020 as I pen this review, and NWN was published almost 18 years ago. What I'm getting at is it doesn't look as lush compared to NWN. You know those budget games you used to be able to buy from Mastertronic or Mastertronic MAD for £1.99 and 2.99? It feels like what would be a £2.99 game would cost now, £10. £15 seems too dear given it feels rather unpolished or unfinished, and could do with more patching to iron out the minor bugs. As long as you're not expecting Skyrim or Neverwinter Nights, it's not bad.
an okie dokie game. :)

The game first seems like another cheap, lazy old-school RPG wannabe... but that's wrong! It actually looks, sounds, and feels amazing! It's very well polished, the graphics are clean, animations are snappy, and the music is A-tier with something strangely nostalgic about it. Combat is tun-based done right - tactical but quick and smooth. It all creates a very solid base for a truly fantastic game. Yes, a base, because some aspects indeed feel unfinished. The world and dungeons are quite large but also rather empty and repetitive; the skill and magic systems are there but lack variety and depth; the story and writing are fine but just fine. Nonetheless, the game is very enjoyable, an easy 7.5/10 for me, with potential for 9/10 if it had more content. Really hoping for a sequel or an expansion.
Great little blobber that reminds me of the good old shareware games from back in the day. This would fit in great with Spiderweb games and similar.
5/10 amusan mais rien de special
ok.
I like it.
Repetitive, no battle tactics worth mentioning, no skills, nothing interesting. There are a lot of free games out there that are better than this.
Indie produced, low budget. Still fun and hard to get through it.
Polecam :)
