I would listen to what all the negative reviews say.
I got this game in EA years ago and it had great potential. I did pay for the game... and not sure when it went free to play but honestly I don't think it's worth it. There was a lot of bugs/glitches in the game that never got fixed even though they pushed it into full release then never updated it again. I left it for a few years then decided to come back to check on it, but even after 4 years nothing got fixed and it's been abandoned. They couldn't even be bothered to add in a map. The game didn't feel finished and there's just too many problems which is probably why they went F2P. Oh and I would listen to what other negative reviews say- the worlds are very empty, and after so long there's not much to do.

How this game has a overall mixed review is actually surprising.. For the 5,- I spent it on I got my moneysworth by simply exploring.. not to mention I can slice & dice, gather all kinds of adorable and scary animals and build a amazing base with animals roaming amount. Plenty of different decorations, etc. Does the game have a even bigger potentional? yea, it does.. but I'd already be willing to pay more then 5,- for this game so with even more, I'd be willing to pay more.
I thought peaceful mode would give me a nice cozy carebear experience, until I edged up on a pack of wolves and one gave chase and mauled me in the face. Then I went to a new area to get some resources, searching for a part to make a better cooking station. It was nice and peaceful, quiet, and I was methodically poking around in all the houses, taking all the goodies. I come around the corner of a house, no warning a giant tiger flies at me growling and bloodying my screen. The jump scares are real in Peaceful Mode.

An abandonware game that only has a chance of being completed normally and has no access to console commands to fix said issues that you can just get RNG screwed out of. Pretty barebones and often braindead, an animal 'saver' game feels more like a tech demo than actually anything of substance. It's fine on like super-sale of like 5.99$ and under; but this is not some hidden gem and definitely not worth the effort to 100% for steam achievements or cards.
junk
unfinished, nearly unplayable mess.
I really like this game. It has it's flaws, true, but it's still a good game in my opinion. <3 I love the dystophian atmosphere. Graphics are pleasing to my eye and there are so many awesome worlds to explore! I love the idea that I have to do everything I can to save the last animals on Earth. It took me about 60 hours to complete this game, and there's still so much to do, for example improving my base. I will definitely come back to this game in the future. My one and only wish is that someday we get a map. It would make finding those nasty raiders and contaminated areas so much easier.
