Easy Achievements 100% / 10min.
You get what you see: it is an animal guessing game with 151 animals to guess. It starts easy but at around level 100 or so it got pretty obscure.
Smart game to know about animals
Very nice game to spend time, the fact that it has achievements improves the longevity of the game. Loved it and bought the soundtrack too, great tunes!
Animalia - The Quiz Game, developed and published by Marcos Rocha, is a deliberately simple and educational quiz experience that places knowledge and recognition at the center of its design. Rather than attempting to compete with larger trivia games through flashy presentation or competitive modes, Animalia focuses on a calm, methodical format that feels closer to a digital encyclopedia challenge than a conventional video game. From the start, it makes its intentions clear: this is a relaxed test of your familiarity with the animal kingdom, designed to be approachable, informative, and easy to engage with in short sessions. The core gameplay loop is straightforward and consistent throughout the experience. Each level presents the player with an image of an animal and challenges them to correctly identify its name. Progression is locked behind correct answers, encouraging careful observation and recall rather than guesswork. With a large pool of animals to identify, ranging from commonly known species to more obscure examples, the game gradually increases in difficulty simply through variety. This escalation feels natural and fair, as players are eased into the experience before being asked to identify animals they may never have encountered before. To prevent frustration and keep the game accessible to a wide audience, Animalia incorporates a light progression system through the use of earned gold. Correct answers reward currency that can be spent to reveal letters or even full names when players become stuck. This mechanic adds a gentle layer of strategy, as players must decide whether to save resources for later challenges or spend them early to maintain momentum. It also ensures that the game never becomes punishing, reinforcing its educational tone and making it suitable for casual players, younger audiences, or anyone approaching it as a learning tool rather than a test of perfection. Visually, the game keeps things minimal and functional. The animal images are clear and central, with the interface designed to stay out of the way as much as possible. There are no unnecessary visual effects or animations, and this restraint works in the game’s favor by keeping focus squarely on the subject matter. The presentation feels intentionally neutral, allowing the animals themselves to take center stage. While players looking for stylistic flair or visual variety may find it plain, the clarity and simplicity align well with the game’s purpose. The audio design follows a similarly restrained philosophy. Background music is light and pleasant, providing a relaxed atmosphere that supports extended play without becoming distracting. Sound effects are minimal, reinforcing the idea that Animalia is meant to be calm and contemplative rather than competitive or intense. This makes the game particularly well-suited to low-pressure play sessions, whether as a casual pastime or as a way to unwind while still engaging the mind. In terms of scope, Animalia is unapologetically narrow. There are no alternative modes, time challenges, or competitive features, and the experience remains largely the same from beginning to end. For some players, this will limit replay value once all animals have been identified. However, this consistency is also part of the game’s charm, as it never pretends to be more than it is. It is designed as a complete, self-contained quiz experience, and within that framework it delivers reliably. Overall, Animalia – The Quiz Game succeeds by committing fully to its niche. It is not a game driven by spectacle, narrative, or mechanical depth, but by curiosity and recognition. Its gentle pacing, accessible difficulty options, and educational focus make it a pleasant and satisfying experience for players who enjoy trivia or have an interest in wildlife. For those seeking a calm, knowledge-based game on Steam that rewards learning rather than reflexes, Animalia offers a straightforward and thoughtfully designed journey through the animal world.
