Luna has been working too hard, fortunately as she finishes up each night she manages to find her way to a hidden out of the way cafe, one where the gals all dress up like different animals. It could be a place for dreams to come true, or just for Luna to blow off some steam and relax each night.

I like this game but very short and very few photos but I like the art work at least
Animal Cafe is a small, self-contained visual novel that leans heavily into atmosphere, character appeal, and light romantic escapism rather than complexity or mechanical depth. Developed and published by Dharker Studios, it presents a simple premise that serves as a gateway into a more relaxed, intimate experience: a weary protagonist stumbles upon a hidden café staffed by individuals with animal-themed identities, each offering a different personality and emotional dynamic. From the outset, the game makes it clear that it is less about plot progression and more about spending time within this unusual setting, engaging with its characters, and exploring small narrative variations. The structure follows a familiar visual novel format, with most of the experience unfolding through dialogue and occasional player choices. These choices determine which character paths you explore and which ending you ultimately reach, giving the game a modest degree of replayability. However, the branching is relatively contained, with variations that feel more like alternate perspectives on the same core scenario rather than dramatically different storylines. This keeps the experience easy to follow and accessible, but it also means that the sense of discovery is somewhat limited once you’ve seen a few routes. The characters are clearly the centerpiece, and the game invests most of its effort into presenting them in a way that is visually appealing and immediately engaging. Each café staff member has a distinct personality tied loosely to their animal theme, and interactions are designed to be light, conversational, and occasionally flirtatious. While the writing is approachable and easy to digest, it rarely pushes into deeper emotional territory. Character development tends to remain surface-level, focusing more on creating a comfortable, fantasy-like environment than on exploring complex relationships or meaningful growth. For players who enjoy character-driven experiences without heavy narrative demands, this simplicity can be part of the appeal. Visually, the game is one of Dharker Studios’ more polished efforts within its niche. Character artwork is clean and consistent, with detailed CG scenes that highlight key moments and interactions. The café setting itself, while not deeply interactive, is presented in a way that supports the game’s cozy and slightly surreal tone. These visual elements do much of the heavy lifting in terms of immersion, as the rest of the presentation remains fairly static. There is little animation or dynamic movement, and the experience relies primarily on text and still images, which is standard for the genre but limits its sense of liveliness. Gameplay, in the traditional sense, is minimal. Outside of making occasional dialogue choices, the player’s role is largely passive, moving through the story at their own pace. There are no puzzles, no resource systems, and no mechanical challenges to engage with. This makes Animal Cafe easy to approach and suitable for short, casual sessions, but it also means that the experience depends almost entirely on how much the player enjoys reading and interacting with the characters. Those looking for more interactive or system-driven gameplay will likely find it lacking. The tone of the game is shaped in part by its inclusion of mature and suggestive elements, which are woven into the character interactions and overall atmosphere. These aspects are consistent with the developer’s broader catalog and are presented as part of the game’s identity rather than as optional additions. For some players, this enhances the escapist quality of the experience, adding a layer of fantasy and indulgence. For others, it may feel like a dominant focus that overshadows the narrative itself, especially given the relatively simple storytelling. One of the most noticeable aspects of Animal Cafe is its brevity. A single playthrough can be completed quickly, often within an hour, and even exploring multiple routes doesn’t significantly extend the total playtime. While the different endings provide some incentive to revisit the game, the limited scope makes it feel more like a short vignette than a fully developed narrative experience. This aligns with its design as a low-commitment title, but it also means that its impact tends to be fleeting. In the end, Animal Cafe succeeds in delivering exactly what it sets out to offer: a short, visually appealing, and easy-to-consume visual novel centered on light character interactions and a relaxed atmosphere. It doesn’t attempt to push boundaries or introduce new ideas, and as a result, it can feel somewhat shallow in terms of narrative depth and gameplay engagement. However, for players who appreciate simple, character-focused experiences and are comfortable with its tone and style, it provides a pleasant, if brief, escape into a cozy and slightly whimsical setting. Rating: 7/10

Y NO TE EQUIVOCAS.
I launched the game and found the splash screen familiar, where have I seen it? And then I saw the chara design. Ah! it's those guys who made a paid version of a game that was free and yet managed to make it worse than the original. Well, maybe I will not regret my purchase and this game will be good? Nope. It's boring. The characters are not interesting, there is no real story, the dialogues and monologues are cringy at best, and the sex scenes are the encyclopedia of a pubert boy discovering fetishes. And doing it badly. The story tries to make the store mystic. Maybe they are animal people and it's not just cosplay? Nope, they are normal humans and it is cosplay, but then, why do they get out of the costume so quick? What's the point of using cosplay then? But wait, it is actually mystic. But it's not, but it is. Make up your mind at some point, the game is short, a run is around 1 hour, there are two endings, and in two hours we have too many twists. The adult scenes aren't that great or interesting either. Actually, the worst part is that the text feels like it came out from a random story generator, especially since some mistakes in the narration are typical of those. If a human actually wrote this, well, I have seen machines do better, for free. Buy it if you have money to waste. I usually do not refund short games, I made an exception with that one.
Merci pour les succès !
On sale, it's ok. If you like yuri, animal girls, and don't care that it's mostly sexy time with little to no romance go for it. Full price I wouldn't recommend it. But that's true for all Dharker's games. No shade, I just think they're overpriced. Though I do enjoy them.
I think something might be wrong with the game. I thought I'd see other reviews point this out but it looks like it's only happening to me. I haven't played the whole thing yet but there's a scene involving Evie where the background went blank. Even though the narration and dialogue was still there, there's no image. I't supposed to be of Evie on a bed wearing a dom outfit. re-installing the game didn't fix it.
Super short but oddly compelling. Was fun. Wish it was longer and had more story.
