About
An Other Golf Game is an open-ish world sandbox life sim with survival, permadeath, and, golf. You’ll have to figure out how to make money, navigate the world, and survive long enough to hit the course. There are no tutorials, and no hand-holding. When you die, you start over.
Expect to be beaten by the game many times before you beat the game.
Expect to get lost when trying to find the golf course, then getting lost again when you try to go home.
Expect to be confused about how to take clubs out of your bag once you put them in.
Expect to be frustrated that you can't hit a ball when you are not looking at it.
Expect to treat some aspects of the game as a puzzle.
Expect to not know where the save locations are.
Expect to be bad at golf unless you make an effort to learn the mechanics and try to improve, there is a driving range after all.
Expect to figure out how to find and complete odd jobs just to afford more clubs so you can eventually build a full set.
Expect to shank it and subsequently wasting time looking for your ball in the tall grass.
Expect stupid high medical bills, welcome to the US.
Expect having to figure out how far you hit the ball and doing some basic math to determine which club is the right choice for the current situation.
Expect the usual early access quirks like weird Unity physics, janky moments, and frustrating deaths.
Expect a unique, extremely challenging golf experience that takes a long time to master.
This is a passion project created by a solo developer who has worked various jobs at golf courses, from washing carts to caddying and everything in between. If you're interested in a life sim golf game that attempts to truly capture the frustrating essence of golf, this one might be for you.
I encourage you to join the discord or post in the Steam forums if you have any questions or want some help. Like golf, this game is purposefully not easy and attempts to align more to what the real golf experience is truly like. If you have any questions, reach out, I am happy to push you in the right direction.

This game makes me epileptic!!
This is the best golf game that exists. If you are a golfer, this plays like a love/hate letter to being a golfer in the best ways. Hit the range and dial in those distances. Choose a golf ball to play. Count your own score. Which driver is your favourite? Are you better with a new putter? Does any of it even matter? You have to get yourself to the golf course first. Alive. And pay fees. You probably SHOULD pay fees.... right....? If you are not a golfer, the golf in this game is simple enough to play for a complete lay-person - while still being legitimately deep enough to play golf the way it's 'meant to be played'. So much so it's enough to convince people to go out on course for the first time and try the real thing out. I think that's kinda special. You kinda need to be a golfer somewhere in your head to play the traditional golf games - this game won't hold your hand, but it'll make golf accessible enough that you can..feel it? A 'true to life' golf simulation that comes with a well curated deluge of up-and-downs from the real game. Play the ball as it lies....if you can find it!
okay i will say i really had a good time, when i finally found the golf place i had too much fun as a guy who doesn't know anything about golf, drink driving around the shooting range thing but with golf balls, some guy was shooting balls after me so i got mad and wanted to beat him up, he hit me in the back of the head with a 9 iron, he crushed my tiny brain. gotta say i love games like this, my summer car vibes is great. but needs more, i was trying for like 30-40 min just to find the golf park and that really drained the energy i had for the game, and i will like to see more items too. i need smokes and stronger beer
Lets you play golf without touching grass irl. 11/10
I've been having such a difficult time but that's what I love about the game. Now if I could just make some money to buy some clubs then I would be in business.. Highly recommend!
3 hours learning were to go an hour trying to learn to hit ball you will want to pull your hair at times but if you like games like my summer car or mon bazou this is the game you will not find many that hit that same feeling and if can figure this one its worth it
This is one of THE games of all time. I went into it expecting I would try it out and stop playing after an hour or so. I was shocked to find that for some reason I really enjoyed the challenge this game gives you. It took me probably about an hour just to find the course without dying. I won't go into too many specifics here because that's some of the point of the game, but expect to be challenged and frustrated trying to do simple tasks. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though and can be very rewarding once you figure out how to accomplish one of your goals. Overall I find the game fun and worth the price. One thing I really would like to see worked on is the putting physics/putting mini-game. Maybe its user error on my part but it feels like the greens have way too much friction. It would also be nice to have maybe a separate putting swing compared to a normal club swing since putting is a very different motion/mechanic. Excited to see where the game goes and am glad I own it. EDIT: One more thing, I think you need to enjoy playing golf to really enjoy this game. You have to do everything as you would in real life, buy a ball, place the tee, put the ball on the tee, pick your club, watch where your ball lands, find your ball, and finish out the hole. There's even more to it then that but you get the gist.
Great game in the making! A bit like My Summer Car meets golf. I got a game key in a raffle but it is definitely worth the money, developer puts a lot of work in it and keeps improving the game almost every day while informing the community and answering any questions.
If you're a fan of Unity life sim games then this is another great one. As with most life sims, AOGG is developed by one, extremely communicative, developer. Waxy has been able to answer any questions I have had and has been more than transparent when bugs are brought up. The core game play loop involves you doing small 'jobs' to earn money so you can eventually go out and golf. As with any life sim, the jobs you do get to be tedious after a while but that isn't why you're playing the game. No golf game I have played has been able to capture the raw emotions one feels on a golf course until now. Have bad eye sight or get distracted and don't see where you hit your golf ball? Have fun driving around for 15 minutes looking for it. Ever tried chipping onto the green for a chance at a birdie only to blast the ball 40 feet beyond the pin? You'll do that here too. The game is early-access. It has bugs. It is rough. But it is a passion project with a community that is enjoyable to chat with. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys the genre and just wants to relax on the golf course.
One of a kind Hardcore game! Open world with driving and golf! Give it a try and join the fun!
